My boyfriend decided to shave all his pubes off including his testicular hair. Within hours he has a red patchy/blotchy rash,he's really worried about this. I recon (although i havent seen it) it is bad shaving rash... to which i say gentlely exfoliate, moisturise and clean, I've also told him to wear loose fitting cotton boxers to lessen the irritation. However he think's there is something seriously wrong, he refuse to listen to me and wants a prognosis now, but refuse's to go to the doctors. Does anybody have any other suggestions on what he should do? he currently believe's he's going to have ingrown hairs all over, which will get infected... can anybody think of away to get rid of the rash or at least get him to exfoliate? He is seriously paranoid about this.

Yes they are most definitely ingrown hairs. The chance of infection is very slim, and I agree with all of your suggestions except one. Don't put any lotion on the irritated area, because it will clog pores and make it worse. Really, like you said, the only thing you can do is try not to irritate it further, and gently exfoliate to keep the folicles open and wait for the hair to grow. He is just overreacting. You may want to try Bikini Zone, it opens hair folicles, but it really burns.
Good luck!

You have the solution right there. I have done the same thing. All you can do is try to soothe the skin where the rash is. If a hair was cut too short, it may become ingrown. But that is something that your boyfriend will be able to feel when it happens and get it taken care of.

ROFL!!!

Tell him that everyone on the net says he just has razor rash, and it'll grow out just fine. Tell him we all said to stick to shaving his face from now on, including that silly little "soul patch".
