It will probably cause a weight gain or an inability to lose weight. The problem with fake sugars is, although they are low or no calories, they are like a 1000x sweeter than normal sugar. Your body is flooded with something that is just too sweet for it. It loses the abilitiy to tell you to stop drinking the soda. Ultimately you'll develop an addiction cause you'll need that level of sweetness again and again. Know anyone with a Diet Coke addiction? Compare that with say, a piece of pecan pie made with corn syrup. No one can finish a whole pie. After a slice, maybe even 2, you feel sick from all the sugar. Your body can tell you when to stop eating real sugar. Bottom line- try to stay away from the fake stuff. It just some really nasty things to your skin, hair, mood, insides, etc.

I don't think Coke Zero will make you gain weight because it has zero calories, but it does have artificial sweeteners. I've read that artificial sweeteners can sometimes make you crave more sugar, which is why so many people find it hard to give up diet soda. A lot of nutritionists suggest if you must have soda to drink diet soda, but not to drink in excess.

If your friend limits herself to one Coke Zero a day, that should be fine. Otherwise there's always water.

Coke Zero is a lot better for you than normal coke, as it doesn't contain any sugar - therefore less calories.
Sugar is the thing in coca cola which makes it so bad, as it can cause people to gain weight.
I'm sure that it would be ok for your friend Jane to consume a coke zero a day - she will not gain weight by doing this.
Hope this helps! x

Losing weight is a matter of calorie intake vs. calorie expenditure. Coke zero doesn't have any calories, so it'll be much better than regular Coke for losing weight. If she really wants to drop pounds, have her drink water and get some sustained, aerobic exercise several times a week.

Coke zero has zero calories/zero carbohydrate but it is sweetened with splenda.
Now here is the thing. Soda in general whether it is diet or regular can make you gain weight. For one thing, regular has calories and sugar so that is simple weight gain right there. Also sodas have sodium in it. Too much sodium can make you retain water and hence you may find yourself feeling bulky- that is the type of weight gain you see when you consume diet sodas.
Also recently studies have shown whether whatever kind of soda you consume, it increases your craving for sugar as it adds more sugar desire on your taste buds, that encourages you to consume more sugar hence you can gain weight out of it.
Hope this helps!

The only way a coke zero could make your friend gain weight is if she ate a pound of cookies with it.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

I loved to play ball, and for the first time in my life, I'm actually useful, at a ballgame, instead of just a big stationary person, that maybe if the ball comes within this range, I might get it. I was wearing-I'd always wore XX kind of jersey. And then I went down to medium. And then the medium was too big, that it's coming down here.

So I'm wearing a rockin' outfit, and I'm making a play, and the guy stops, beans it in the face 'cause he says, "Look at your body. You're rockin' hard." And that was the first time I had ever gotten a compliment like that in my whole life.
