Hmmmm not good to have them out of the fridge for any length of time either. How about getting the things boiled, making the filling and putting in the piping bag, but actually filling them there??

Go to any boat store and invest in an extended ice life cooler. They keep ice for 5 days and you can get a small one for transporting certain foods. You can put in some ice to keep everything cool and then just make the tray immobile with some foil or towels. Trust me, it's one of the best things I ever bought. They are about 40 bucks but you'll have it and use it forever.

I liked the suggestion that you make the filling but not put it in til you get there. Also, I would put the two halves back together and slip them back into the egg cartons lined with wax paper for transport. Make sure to keep everything good and cold for the trip though.

Put them in a cooler with some ice packs not regular ice. You could put ice in food storage baggies but make sure the ice doesn't melt and make water in the cooler because it might ruin the eggs. The baggies keep the melted ice water away from the eggs so they stay fresh.

They have Deviled Egg "holders" they hold two dozen or so and then wrap them in plastic wrap. Although the idea of filling them when you arrive at your destination would be much easier if time allows you to do it when you arrive or you could just arrive at little early.
