He claims love and devotion to me I am saving furiously to get there, we talk on the phone a lot. He is much younger than I am. Am I just falling in love with a fantasy and if I get there and it doesn't work out I am going to be on my own for 2 weeks

Have you actually checked online at the State Dept's site to see what the political situation is in Ghana, lately? Even if this guy is sincere(doubtful, if you've only had an online presence to judge by), you'll likely be stuck in a situation that you may find untenable when you get there, and also subject to their laws and social mores which may be completely alien to your sensibilities! I don't know what your experience or upbringing is, but unless you're trained and experienced in dealing with foreign cities and are equipped with enough linguistic, financial and combat training, you'd better be super careful...and I'm a man with experience!
