Rabies takes up to 10 days to manifest.

Your cat sounds like she's just upset with the stray staying around, not that she's instantly sick with a disease that's actually pretty rare, so don't worry yourself about this so much.

The bite marks can get infected, which would lead to an abscess on her. Those are treatable. Cat's skin heals very fast and tends to lock in infection from a bite.

If she's up to date on her shots, she should have rabies coverage with her last vaccinations. The only things I'd worry about would be Feline Leukemia and FIV.

I looked around online and found this:

"In 1991, wildlife accounted for the majority of rabies cases (91%), with skunks and raccoons responsible for 74%"

That means only 9% of rabies was passed by domestic animals.

"In 1991, there were 155 reported cases in dogs and 189 in cats in the US. "

Considering the millions of cats in the USA, you can see how small this number is.

Someone else gave you the time frame for symptoms, so I won't repeat that.

Right now she may be responding to the continued presence of this intruder.

NOW... why didn't you get your cat vaccinated against rabies? If you did, you wouldn't be going through this worry.

Bring her to the vet, and please try not to have too much contact with her as much as possible. Ask him if you need to have a vaccination ASAP.
