Aspirin is NSAID, and drug of choice for fever in adult. What some people do not aware of is that aspirin is a trombolitic agents. Doctor often prescribe people with heart coronary disease aspirin because of aspirin capability to prevent and release thrombus & blood clott in the artheries.

Chikungunya, has the same causal agent and symptoms / laboratory finding with dengue, i.e : thrombocytopenia (low platelet, under 150.000). This make someone with chikungunya easily bleed and hardly stop.

Imagine If someone with chikungunya given aspirin -- they more easily bleed and even hard to stop because aspirin prevent thrombus (platelet) to form blood clott, and this could cause DIC.
