Shifts to the left. no I have'nt fallen nor bumped it in at least ten years, if ever.

The naturopathic nurse is absolutely right - without getting checked out their is no specific answer to your question ..... however I believe you must have suffered some form of injury or damage at some time that is now making itself present ... somethings things like this don't surface for ages, years even, and then present themselves when something insignificant, unnoticable happens .... it does sound like something has come adrift or is being push out of position for some reason - only a qualified medical practitioner can tell you .....

you need to see a chiropractor or an orthopedic doctor and get a complete examination. They're going to be able to tell you what is causing your tailbone to move leading to the pain. There's no way anyone can tell you what is causing this problem on the internet. Get to the doctor as soon as possible.
