MM. Mine is an apothecary chest (many drawers). Because of room layout it's on the West. I do however orientate items representing the quarters according to the compass though - Which is a darn-sight easier than working over fire! At the moment I have some crystals, shells, feathers and candles on there - along with some fresh flowers in a big vase. For circlecasting I tend to do this mentally - to include the Altar as if the wall was not there. Whatever works for you. Cords - very much a coven thing, but sometimes use cotton piping from a fabric suppliers - thickness about the size of a thin straw, colour dependent on use. Love and light to you and yours.

I don't keep anything on my altar and use whatever I feel is right at the time for whatever ritual I am doing. Usually I have a altar pentacle, goddess and god candles I have started using kiwi torches for the direction fires instead of colored candles. I use two bowls one for water and another for offering. Cakes and juice usually. My athame and wand. Just usual stuff to use during ritual.

My altar is an old dresser without the drawers. Instead of throwing it away I figured it would make a good outside altar

I always have white candles, water in a goblet or teapot and different crystals for there different energies. I feel the water is charged by the crystal energy and drink it from time to time. If there are things I am dealing with I write them down and put them on my altar, then burning them to be carried off into the aether. I have no strict ritual practice as thoughts alone to me are enough, I prefer a more intuitive approach to my altar and solitary wiccan practice, do what feels right.

I have the 'typical' altar setup, except for having two Goddess and two God statues. I have a triple Bridgid, a Thor, as well as, a generic nature Goddess, and a wooden carving that my Mother got in Germany of an older man climbing a mountain, wearing a short tunic, carrying an apple. That statue has always held special meaning to me, it seems fitting that it should be on my altar.

I am Wiccan, so my altar has specificly Wiccan symbolism on it. There is a picture on my altar on my 360 pagan, through my profile. It is a little out of date. We have gotten some new things and changed it a little since that picture was taken. I will have some new pictures up on there this week.

A pair of candlesticks for my God and Goddess candles, another stand for a pillar candle that I use as a focus for many spells, a chalice of water, and a small bowl of sea salt. I keep my incense in the drawer below, along with matches, extra candles, and a few bottles of "stuff"--tiny crystals, glitter, thread of various colors, etc. I'm an eclectic, so I often let the materials I have on hand inspire me.

I only have one permanent altar, which is a healing altar. On it I have the names those who have asked for healing work, with their ailments. These I keep (so I can do healing energy work for them) until the problem has passed..

For ritual work, we use a table, usually the living-room table, and we have on it Tradition-specific things that we use. We set it up for ritual, and clear everything away after.
