Yes. Several recipes are on the source page including Fried Piranha, Piranha Soup, and Piranha in Tomato Sauce. Cachama, a piranha-related farm-raised species, is often used where piranha are not locally available. Cachama (in Spanish) and tambaqui or pacu (in Brazil) also originate in the Amazon and Orinoco River basins.

Here is a recipe for grilled piranha:
Gut and descale the fish, slit the flanks, put garlic pepper and lemon juice. This is then dipped into a batter made from eggs, flour, salt and pepper. Then cook in a stove top pan with light butter, cover over a medium fire (gas is best). Fry till golden brown, making sure you flip the fish occasionally. When its done your fork should be able to freely enter the flesh which should be flaky white by then.

Nothing more impressive than serving a dish with some impressive teeth staring back at you.

After watching Man vs Wild I learned that pirranahas are good eating, but they are mostly a very boney fish. The meat on it may be good, but you have to want to get through all those teeny tiny bones.

Have never heard it used a a food fish.... it may be better used as a fertilizer than a food fish.

I hear it is tasty, but there is not much meat on them and they have a lot of bones.
