If you can get a job, you should take it. But there are strict laws on how long you can work since you are underage. Count on working less than part time.

Otherwise, I got a job when I was about your age during the summer for the city government supervising elementary school kids.

It's not a lot of money or even a real job for that matter... just a way to earn some extra cash in your spare time filling out free surveys online. You only have to be 13 to sign up and it's completely free.

Sign up at http://urlkiss.com/4w and get $3 JUST to join. Minimum payout is $15. That means you just have to earn $12 to receive a check and see that it's legit for yourself. I made $500+ last month just doing surveys.

Good luck in your money making quest :)

You have to have permission from your parents and the school. If your grades slip the school will notify your boss and unless you get your grades up you will be fired. The business also has to have a special permit to allow kids under the age of 16 to work. They have to renew it yearly and show that they are following the law. This is one reason that a lot of places won't hire under age 18 or 16...too much hassle.

I say take the job. Be one of the young people that doesn't expect free handouts. And when your 16, 17, 18 years old potential employers will probably take you more seriously if they see that you were serious about working when you were 14.
