It seems like whenever anyone mentions anything about Jesus the Christ or the bible or Christianity as a whole, people get upset. I guess maybe its just convicting, I don't know because to me some of things that are said they don't necessarily come off disrespectful, but that's how people take it. I don't get it why are people so angry?

when unbelievers disagree - it doesn't mean they are angry

Because they feel convicted and don't want to face the truth. I went through that when I first got witnessed to, except I wasn't angry, just that I felt like Christians were picking on me for no reason. I got over that shortly and got saved and am now a born again Bible believing Christian.

Could be because some people who "believe" also force their beliefs on others through governmental pressure: the recent takeover of the corrupt republican party by people who CLAIM to be religious but are just being vocal on issues that "believers" get excited about: homosexual rights, abortion to name two.

Another reason is the outright ignorance of "believers" of plain as day facts: the earth is much older than 2000 years old, the garden of eden story is just a story, dinosaur bones are real, not fabricated.

Lets not forget how adamantly "believers" are about how their beliefs are the one true belief and all others who don't buy the fairy tale are going straight to "hell"

Also, many "believers" are exactly what they are portrayed as by their own faith: sheep; blindly following, never questioning automatons with no independent thought.

Another reason is hypocritical actions: all that talk of love and understanding and still you ignore the evil of men who start wars for profit, you also say "love thy neighbor", but if your neighbor is a poor black person, you say, "I don't want to pay them welfare, and please, not in my children's school".

Probably why all you suckers who "believe", also bought all those lies by GW Bush and friends.

Not angry, frustrated and disappointed in my fellow humans. As an evolved ape we should be able to put away childish things like superstition and religion and move on to more productive things in our lives. Religion is a hold out to our primitive roots and our fear of nature that we couldn't explain.

What upsets me are our own Talibabtists that are out to ram religion down our throats with the rule of law after raping the constitution and replacing democracy with theocracy.

I'm an atheist. You can mention all of that in my face and we can have a discussion about the Bible and Christianity, and I will not be upset or get nervous. You have my word.

Peace.

Because the Christian extremists would LOVE to take over the U.S. I view them as the Christian counterpart to the Taliban. It seems they would dump the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in a hot second if they could. So basically, STAY OUT OF MY GOVERNMENT. If I wanted to live in a country completely run by a religion I would move to a Arab country or Iran. This is America and I'd like to see it stay that way.

Non-acceptance...this person that's thumping their bible in front of me believes that I need to be "fixed" by an imaginary being and won't take no for an answer. They have "raped" my ear and wasted my valuable time....sorry, I stopped sitting on the magic carpet to listen to fairy tales back when I was in kindergarten. This person will not respect my opinions or my beliefs and thinks I need to change myself for their benefit...and I don't think I'm the only one it angers.

Probably because more often than not the name Jesus has been used to humiliate, manipulate, hound people... it's been used to try to give the appearance that those who believe in him are superiour to others... that they have authority to judge AND condemn others just because they believe in him. He has been used to ostracize people who have done no wrong. His name is dragged through the mud by many of his own followers.... and the "unbelievers" are tired of it being used against them in that way...

It does not, however, have to do with Jesus' teachings. Most people would agree with a vast majority of his teachings about how to treat other people and how to live honestly, etc. But people do get tired of others using him to try to get one up on others, especially those who may be emotionally weaker.

when it is mentioned the way you just have no one gets upset (ok, most of us don't).

when it is mentioned and used to tell me how horrible my religion is and how i'm a devil worshipper and evil...and so on and on i tend to get a little upset. i usually ignore this type of thing though.
some people take it more personally then i do.

The True Founder of Christianity

Did Jesus or his Apostles follow a religion called Christianity? Who were the first 'Christians' ? Who founded Christianity and do the teachings of Christianity conform to the teachings of Jesus?

The teachings of Paul, the true founder of Christianity, cannot be found anywhere in the teachings of Jesus or in those of prophets before him.

Amused rather than angry, and this question is another example... you ask why we are concerned about people wishing others to live by a set of rules that are made up and have as their apex an imaginary being.
