Honey, I totally feel for you. I've been through the same thing. I suffer from Anxiety/panic attacks and depression as well. When I was in college I would get the anxiety attacks all of the time like multiple times per day and along with that came the depression. I started getting scared when I was driving that I was going to make a right turn on red and someone was going to hit me. It was so bad I would close my eyes and make the turn. I would check all the door and window locks MANY times before going to bed and basically felt like I was paranoid. It's not a fun experience I know. It's scary and it almost seems to make both the anxiety and depression worse b/c you want to get over it so bad yet you can't. Are you taking any medications? I was put on Antidepressants to help with the anxiety which obviously helped with depression as well. I was first on Lexapro which made me gain weight but I know 4 other people that lost weight on it. I only took 10mg instead of the 30mg I was supposed to take and I didn't care about anything in the world. I was happy and myself again. I stopped taking it b/c of the weight gain and I took 1 month to taper off and I STILL had horrible widthdrawls. A few months later I tried Wellbutrin and that really helped. However, it is a stimulus which can make the anxiety worse. The first two weeks was awful but after that I felt much better and I lost 10lbs on it. Being on an SSRI (seratonin selective reuptake inhibitor) antidepressant is very important as well as having panic attack meds. I take Xanax but I break them in half but I know they perscribe Ativan for this alot. If you're not on these types of medicaions I would high suggest talking with your doctor. Regardless of if you are taking the medications or not I highly suggest seeing a therapist. I saw a Christian Psychologist every week for 4 months then twice a month for 3 months. It helped me so much if it wasn't for her I'd still be a mess. It really helped me realize that things I thought were helping were acctually causing my anxiety and depression to worsen. It's just really helpful to have someone to talk and document your feelings and go over different wasy to overcome them. I am now antidepressant free but I still have Xanax incase I need it. The only time I take that is the night before major exams or if I have a panic attack which I haven't had in over a year! Good luck with everything. I totally understand how you feel and I hope you take my advice about therapy. Group support groups are not as effective. I know it's expensive but you'll thank yourself after for sucking it up and not spending the next 40 years of your life in misory!!! Good luck :)

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.
Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

Are you seeing someone for your panic attacks? Are you receiving any treatment? It's obvious that these attacks are disrupting your life. You must seek better help. I suggest looking into EEG Biofeedback also known as neurofeedback or neurofeedback. It is a safe, effective alternative treatment for anxiety related disorders that can relive you of this attacks. Do the research on the web using keywords "neurofeedback and anxiety". Click below to learn more about neurofeedback.
