Sit-ups do NOTHING to remove body fat. They will strengthen your abs, but do NOT burn fat. To burn fat, the BEST two things to do are yoga, and cardiovascular exercise, regularly. Exercise-ball work-outs are exceptionally effective in removing fat, but the important thing to remember is that you CAN NOT specify where the fat will burn from. You do the exercising, and you body will decide what it burns. This can make the process seem frustratingly drawn-out, but its just the way things work.

Good luck.

That may be where you carry your excess weight. Situps won't help unless you get rid of the excess fat which has accumulated there. Joining the cross country team would make you lose weight or even just running on your own.

I was on the cross country team in high school and it always kept me slim (I was an average runner but probably would have been really good if I didn't smoke) Once you've lost the weight though then the situps are good for toning.

Try buying a workout dvd combined with the situps, plus learn the proper breathing steps during a situp (maybe you already do that?)

Yeah so if you do cardio you can burn the layer of fat away and if you keep up with the situps you're muscles will strengthen up and you will look nice and toned.

I actually heard about a girl who did 6000 situps a day but I think she ended up becoming anorexic.

1. stop drinking water 1 hr and 2 hrs after meal
2. drink as much as water u can early in the morning at least 1 hr before breakfast
3. avoid lying on ur stomach ( as is usually seen while reading or watching tv)
4. do exercises that concentrate on stretching ur stomach like forming bridges exercises
5. see to it that u have regular bowel movement. if not twice than at least once a day
6. Eat lots of fibrous fruits and vegetables and avoid too much of fast foods.
i know it's difficult but try it out for at least a month and see if u can feel any difference. if not i have more ways

Situps don't cut fat. You need to diet and get more exercise. Try walking.

have you been to the doc's???at the age of 14 there are lots of people that can help...and this place is not the best to get good answers....if you know you got a problem then you are half way there getting it sorted...don't get yourself down about it as will only add to the problems....go seek help...you will look back in the future and wish you had done it before....wish you all best...

Walk/jog/run or swim. Cardio would be the best way. Try tae-bo or a similar workout.

ahhhh join the club!
My friend joined a local YMCA and took up swimming. She lost a lot of weight just from that alone.

Cut down on your food. And do not eat after 8p.m. Your sit-ups should be working to firm up your tummy while you are on a diet.
