When I think of the world ending. Like global warming? It just doesn't seem fair that people of my/our generation will have to suffer from other's mistakes. I am so confused. :( I don't want to be scared but I am.

The world is not ending. The effects in your lifetime - even the worst predicted - are not going to cause to much of a problem.

Uncontrolled it would cause problems for future generations but mankind is tackling it and the ozone problem has been stable for several years now thanks to mans activities to stop it. All the efforts take time and it will be several decades before we can see big changes.

You are scared because some of the greens and the eco warriors are trying to frighten you. They are the really frightening thing because their false and greatly exaggerated claims are quickly seen through and make people more sceptical!

Try looking at the UN predictions which greatly scale back the scaremongering figures thrown out by the activists.

Global warming is manageable.

Years back ban the bomb activists were predicting the end of the world from nuclear weapons or power stations. Balance that against the fact that the Java tsunami released the energy equivalent to 6 million Hiroshima sized nuclear weapons!

What you need is perspective and to learn to discern when people are greatly exaggerating risks.

Look at what your parents had when they were your age and then what your grandparents had. You are many times better off and far, far safer!!!

The effects the current generation will likely feel from the effects of global warming wont be that bad.

Previous generations had World Wars, the Cold War, severe economic depressions, etc.

We're going to get wacky weather and possibly more severe storms. If you had to pick living through the early stages of global warming, or living through not knowing if the Nazis are going to control the world, it kindof puts things in perspective :]

The world wont end because of global warming for a long time. Everyone alive today will be long dead by that point.

As for suffering for prior generation's mistakes: that is unfair, but consider that it's only because of prior generations that we have computers, or television, electricity, cars... we have to take those good things with the bad.

Even under the worst GW scenarios, things will not be too bad during your lifetime (and some things will improve). The worst effects, if they come, will be a few hundred years from now. Even those (really very bad) scenarios are not likely to wipe out all of mankind. No need to be afraid---we just need to change away from fossil fuels for the good of posterity.

Dont be scared. What you are feeling now is exactly what the news wants you too. Fear sells. Global warming is not going to end the world no matter how much fanatics say it will.

Relax. Stop watching the news. The Earth isn't coming to an end. However many who study global warming wish there were many more people who thought like you do.

In a year or two, the Earth will start cooling off again like it has several times in the past.

You think this is unfair only to our generation and you're only concern because you're in it, the next and subsequent generations might actually be the one to suffer for the mistakes of this and earlier generations and do you have concern for them?

The reason you are afraid is that you have put your trust in mankind, mankind will aways fail you. Your trust should have been in God, and then you would have the one that is trustworthy.
