When formal philosophy has stated there is no definite proof.... either towards or against the existence of a God.

Because they want to believe that god is real, and their cultural traditions back their claims up. But no one knows if God is real or not for sure, and that is the only truth about God!

Also, it matters how you define God!

Though not necessarily the case for the followers who believe 100%, I'm under the impression that the leaders themselves DON'T believe 100%, but merely put on the facade.

The ones who are always acting so certain almost inevitable gain some sort of power or privledge over others by using the bible for their own means. They tend to go for larger audiances then the traditional town church, and tend to become politically involved. They don't listen to arguments, be the argument valid or invalid. And they always have a fallback device (the bible) if something goes wrong.

These are all traits you don't just see in major Christian leaders, but all leaders who strive for power. I would never say that all preachers and ministers are this way, because it's not the case. But for the crowd you're refering to, I fully expect it's almost always the case.

Because religion is one of the biggest money spinners on earth. Why would they destroy that. Infact they go out of the way to hide facts that would discredit the belief of god and his bible [ god,s bible, what a joke.}The vatican knows there is no god but would never give up such power or money for the truth. Heres a question, why are religious people so stupid and afraid to find out the real truth. Are they that weak that the truth would be too scarey for them.Do they really need a crutch to live life

philosophy also doesnt grant that we know if we're even here, but i still need to assume. anyway you're asking about faith which doesnt require empirical proof.

you're level-headed atheist friends seem to have no problem with being 100% certain in the possiblity of carrying out a vast conspiracy for dozens of millenia accross thousands of generations involving millions of religious leaders who are all involved one giant secret as old as mankind itself all for the sake of hording great wealth - such as the 28k per year that the average catholic priest makes. what splendid luxury, and what a brilliant and above all completely plausible scheme.

It is a whole lot easier for me to believe that there is a God that created us than to believe that we just evolved out of nothing besides everyone is born with the felling of needing to know something deeper.

Not All religious leaders are sincere but there are some who are. I have known my Pastor and his family for for than 25 years. He is definitely genuine and accessible. He practices what he preaches and he expresses that he, just like we, must constantly look to Christ to keep his faith steady.

Simple; Faith, the same goes for us "civilians" too

THERE IS DEFINITE PROOF!!! Some Humans just likes to ignore it and say that there is none, I mean being able to be wake up every morning, while many others perish is a miracle/proof itself!!! Life itself is a miracle/proof too and the whole world is a BIG proof

I was born a christian but I dint know that God is really there. Whenever preachers preached, and always my father takes me to meetings. I will ask my father to take me back home soon. I thought that when people testified that miracles happened to them, they were given money to do so. I thought all sorts of things I can. Then when God dealt with me, I was surprised. I only sought Him when problems come and He answered, I then too thought it was co-incidence.

Tell me how I can tell that He is not there, when He really is there. I want to tell you that I am not a righteous, nor religious person, but I want to love the Lord who created me and to know what He wants with my life.

If He is being so kind to me, He can be so to anyone who call to Him.

Actually, most of them are well aware that god is mythical... that Jesus is fictional... and that christianity is a total fraud. They are not holy men... they are criminal conspirators.

There is a whole industry that is devoted to creating whole generations of scientifically-ignorant, deluded and droolingly stupid 'believers'... who can then be counted on to tithe 10%. They accomplish this perverted crime by systematic mental child-abuse... the religious indoctrination (brainwashing) of innocent, vulnerable and trusting children... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xKDKq_PPbk&mode=related&search=
