As salaamu 'alaikym warahmatullahi wabaraktu, my sister and my friend.

Insha'Allah, when I read about the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him, his family and his followeres) I am always impressed by how he interacted with his wives.
He sought to protect them as well as to establish them as their own persons.
He listened to them, especially when they were offering advice which often turned out to be the course he followed.
There were times when he sought refuge with them, comfort, understanding and encouragement.
He assisted them in daily chores and house work as well as child care.
They were truly his life partners and to be a partner, all must be equals.

Sadly, it seems that many Muslims have either forgotten these facts or have never learned them in the first place. If they had, they would treat all women with the proper respect, with equality, fairness and justice.
One does not see men practicing similar horrors on themselves and other men as they often perpetuate on women. Such would and does seem to be a double standard and such is not acceptable in Islam.

Insha'allah, I hope and pray that with the recent growth in Islam, especially among the many western converts, that this situation may be rectified.
Insha'Allah, I also hope and pray that the "new Muslims (of which I am now one, alhumdilallah!)", who are actively pursuing knowledge and understanding of Islam, its fundamentals (fundamentalism and the practice of the basic of ones faith need not be a bad or non-beneficial thing) and practices based on the Holy Qur'an, the Sunna Hadiths and the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him, his family and his followers), will work to educate the whole world, including many supposedly "Islamic states" so that a purer Islam may begin to be practiced for the love of Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala and the benefit of all mankind.

Ma'a salaam.

Islam is a perfect religion guided by Gods own words Quran. There is no problem for muslim ladies but the problem is in the heads of muslims who do not know their grandeur, and follow wrong ways instead of the way of the Prophet saw. Muslim are the most ignorant nation in the current world while learning is first message to this great nation. They have no unity, no truthfulness, no true belief, no confidence, no ideals just moving on waves without any direction.

When I first read about FGM the evidence of it didn't scare me but it did make me sad and angry that someone could do this to another person, especially since I have a daughter of my own. But I think a lot of people respond to this as they do many problems in the world. If it can't be resolved quickly or if it is something that doesn't impact them personally then they tend to overlook it.

Of course. Once women can drive automobiles in Saudi Arabia, I will be less concerned. When it is no longer necessary for the beggar ladies to sit outside the Tamimi market on King Abdulaziz Road in Riyadh, asking for alms, I will have still less concern. (I used to give them ten riyals [$2.63], since in Islamic society there is literally no other way that they can earn a living.)

Not really.Just tell us the place of women in society as laid down in Islamic scriptures and the real ground conditions.I am sure you wouldn't ask for any proofs on this unless you are a blind or a die hard fanatic.

one thing is sure. woman are not human beings according to allah and mohammed. they are objects. or to be more clear, commodity that are saleable. proof is there in quran. looks like allah and mohammed were into flesh trade. so they inserted this specifically in quran.
