ok check this out, i was out on a fishing trip for crapie and caught a pirahna. i've already had it confirmed that it is deed a Cariba Piranha the fish is 14 inches from nose to tip of tail. and weighs 3.5 lbs. the fish was probably dumped by a pet owner at some time. what i'm asking is should i go ahead and have it mounted? and why? or why not? o and if it makes a difference it was caught in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA

being as this likely a once in lifetime fish (as they are not native to the US) i would definitely get it mounted.that would make for some interesting stories to be sure.

Who verified it as a Piranha? I would bet it was a Pacu which looks a lot like a Piranha. If it was a piranha someone is going to get a big fine sence you have to have a special lisence to even have them in the US. As for mounting the fish it can be expensive and even if it is a Pacu it is still a once in a lifetime fish so if you can afford to have it mounted do it.

yea i think you should an average one is only 6 inches long and once they get to around 10 it is good size for the fish. If it is really 3.5 pounds and 14 inches it must be extremely fat. So yes it is very large and if you want to than you should. Its deffinately worthy of it.

I would. I know some pirahnas get dumped in local lakes, and ponds, regardless, still an interesting catch. If you mount make sure the teeth are showing.

It all depends on whether the size is just average or if it large enough to qualify as a trophy. It will also be somewhat expensive, so the cost should also be considered.
