laws in Israel are "racist", sorry for using this term I know it touches raw nerves, but I couldn't find another term to describe Israeli laws as accurately, since they effectively distinguishe between people according to their race, creed and religion. So if you are jewish you can apply for citizenship and get it quite easily.

On the other hand if you are anything else even a person who was born and has been living in this part of the world for countless generations you can not get the nationality, you can't even enjoy basic human rights.

As Noble laureate Archpishop Desmond Tutu from South Africa put it when he visited Israel and the Arab occupied territories "they (Israelis) make appartheid look like a picnic".

You can read the oppinion of Archbishop Desmond Tutu in the following linked Article

Edit to Paperback:

The 20% non Jewish Israelis are called Arabs of 48. They are basically the Arabs Israel was stuck with after Al Nakba in 1948, even those are treated as second class citizen and do not enjoy full civil rights. Since then I think extremely few non jews did get Israeli Nationality (If any I wouldn't know frankly, I don't have clear statisitics).

So in this regard Israeli laws are indeed not only racist by distinguishing between Israelis and non Israelis, But also between Israeli jews and Israelis of other religions. I would also add that similar distinction, although on a social level, spread even among Jews of different origins. They are even classified accordingly (Ashkenazi, Sefardim or Falasha etc...).

So I guess it is not reasonable to deny the racist and exclusive nature of the state of Israel as a whole, it is a well known undebatable fact; starting from the very concept of establishing a home land for "JEWS ONLY", going through UN resolutions that equated the Zionist Ideology with appartheid reaching the actual practices critisized by the entire international community and that we see daily on the screens of our TVs.

Edit to Whoo!: You practically answered your own question, If a country makes laws to accomodate only one race, then it is racist by defintion. Maybe applying your logic to other countries will help clarify the issue. Will it be ok if the USA decided to accept only white immigrants because they want so? If they excluded Hispanics, Black Africans and Asians will that be ok? Could we ask the same question and say why would Hispanics, Blacks and Asians wanrt to go to the USA any way... it was built by white europeans for white europeans! of course this could happen but this is exactly what I call racist.

To Answer you further, Palestinians do have a right of return as well since more than 3 million of them used to live in what we call modern day Israel before 1948 and have properties there. But of course becasue they are not Jews they are not allowed to return. They live as refugees since then scattered all over the globe.

Edit to Kosher Nostra: You know I'm not lying, and I'm sticking to decent rules of discussions, I have provided references and links, I have stated facts, I haven't used offensive or abusive language like you did. And becasue of this, yes I do expect people to take my answers seriously and they usually do (Edit 2: I guess his Answer was deleted. But I didn't report him, honestly, when someone insults me I like to keep their Answer right where it is for people to know who they are really dealing with)

Msafwat- okay, why would you have some Muslims or Hispanics immagrating to Israel if they're not Israeli or Jewish! It's not being racist, they just simply just want Jews or Israelis living there!

Msafwat- Excuse me, but I did not answer my own question! It is the home for the Jews! The United States had people immagrating from all different countries from its beginning! So Israel just wants it's own people! If the United States wanted just Whites, they would've not brought the Blacks from Africa to be sold here!

To corrrect what Msafwat has said:

There is nothing 'racist' about Israel's immigration laws whatsoever.

I personally know many non Jewish people who are now living as Israeli citizens.

Over 20 per cent of Israelis are NOT JEWISH.

To the original questioner:

Have you tried going to the nearest Israeli consulate/embassy? I think this might be a good start.

They can advise you best and also they will hopefully put you in touch with organisations that support those thinking of moving to Israel.

Best of luck with it!
