My daughter had had a speech impediment all her life from having chronic ear infections when she was small and not learning to speak correctly(because she couldnt hear correctly!!) He must have an infection if there is still a fever after giving both tylenol and advil, and probally needs a stronger antibotic prescribed. Take him to an ear nose and throat specalist if you have not done so already.DONT put any more drops in until you see a doctor

You are alternating the Advil and Tylenol every 2-3 hours and the child still has a fever? If that is so, then that is an infection that requires a doctor and antibiotics. Does that answer your question?

My son had a ruptured ear drum when he was very small. It got to the point where he was losing his hearing in that ear. I used to take a wash cloth and run it under warm water. I would wring it out and hold it to his ear. It helped ease the pain a little. I hope my advise helps.

DO NOT PUT DROPS IN HIS EAR if his ear drum was ruptured. If he is that miserable take him to urgent care and get this checked out. Also if the ear drum hasn't healed shut consider asking his ENT doc if surgery is recommended to repair the hole.

I know that it's not the same medical history but I just had swimmer's ear a couple weeks ago and the Doc told me that to alleviate pain, to use a COLD compress because warm ones make swelling (and therfore pain) worse.

When my daughter was little, she got frequent earaches. I mixed together sesame oil and ginger juice that I made in my juicer. I mixed them half each. When she had an earache, I'd heat it slightly (not too hot), put it on a cotton ball and stick it in her ear. Her earache would be gone within half an hour. I also gave this to friends for their children and it worked just as well.

Take him to the Drs asap.Ear infections are really painful and if not treated properly can lead to deafness. He will most likely need antibiotics. My kids and grandkids have been dealing with this most of their lives on and off.
