I thought the FBI and local police decided that stuff?
I mean, have you tried to get away with murder lately?

You have to start by understanding that God is not just another type of human being, only bigger and badder.

God created everything that exists. He does *not* have perceptions based on observation like us. He knows exactly how many hairs you have on the top of your head (Psalm 139) and how many grains of sand are in the ocean (again, Psalm 139). He was there while you were being formed in the secret place deep within the bowels of the earth. The pages in the book that is your life were written by Him before a single one of them was even lived.........

God is more awesome and majestic than you or I could possibly imagine.

God does not have "opinions". God has all absolute knowledge and truth. That is what He *is*.

Read Psalm 139 once and then reflect upon it.

What gives God the authority to decide morality? He is the Creator of all that exists - you and I actually belong to Him. As it says in Scripture "Our lives are not our own, we were bought with a price. We belong to God."

I take issue with this statement:
god has perceptions based on observation just like us.

God does not perceive the same way as we do. He needs no instruction and will never learn anything because He knows it all. God IS the truth. It is His omniscience that makes His statements absolute truth.

Perceptions? Opinions? Hardly.

He has the authority because He IS the authority. He is the beginning and end of everything that was, is, and ever will be. The Alpha and the Omega. All of existence comes from Him. I'd say that means He's got pretty much all the authority in existence.

This help?

God is just an energy so it is doubtful it has opinions or perceptions. That power is left to humans. What makes morality an absolute truth is a simple observation of good vs bad on a large scale. Good societies prosper (U.S) and bad wilt away (ex Pakistan).

God gives himself the authority. He is a dictator, not a Democrat. He made you, he makes the rules.
If you compare God and the universe to a business, God would be the CEO of the universe. If you don't like the CEO, you can always quit and go find a different company to work for. Except here, your only other choice is Satan. I don't think Satan would make any better of a boss that God does.

God the Creator gives Himself the authority...for there is no one above Him. And, no, His perceptions are NOT based on the same observations as ours. If you stand in a valley, can you look down on the mountaintops? No, you have to be ABOVE the mountaintops to look down upon them. Therefore, just as these are two different viewing points - so, too, are our viewpoints different from God's.

You talk of God as he is bound by our Universe, the Universe He created. God existed before the Universe was created and He will existed after it cease to exist. I believe that gives God the authority.

His revelation clearly states that God, not man, judges.

In the bible, there are 278 verses containing the word truth; do you think God was talking about subjective truth?

Well, if you ascribe to belief in God, then you know and understand that from Him originates/emanates all power and wisdom. That being the case, it only stands to reason that all which is right and just would originate/emanate from Him as defined by His perfect holiness. There is no higher source of that which is moral than God. He assumes that authority because He cannot swear by any higher than Himself.

God has all authority by His nature. Nothing "gives" it to Him.

"What makes God's opinions absolute truth?" Are you drunk? Opinions can't be absolute truth. (That's because they're opinions.)

God doesn't judge.

John 5:22
For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

Judge and your judgment separates you from God the same instant. It is why we shouldn't judge.
