It may be different for guys, than girls, but this is what helped my son: First he tried Accutane, and it helped for awhile. Then the acne came back. The doctor suggested another round of the same medication, but my son did not want to use it, again. Then (because of some information we had from when he was younger), he tried avoiding dairy products, along with adding tanning to his regime. This seemed to dramatically clear up his skin. My daughter will not try the dietary changes, so I cannot say whether it would help, a young woman, or not.

My mother suffered from bad acne and for years she had no success then her Doctor prescribed Accutane and it worked for her. Its very powerful, I'm not sure if they still market it because off all the nasty side-effects but it works! Its a oral medicine and It dries people up good. Now she just uses a simple benzoyol 5% wash and shes fine.I hope the best.
Sry didnt' know the other person already commented on accutane.

Accutane, but serious side affects may ensue, but you will be closely monitored by a doctor visit (once a month) followed by, and i am not sure if this is only california, internet site where you must answer questions. I have used accutane in two different segments, once with the internet site. I can answer any of your questions. I have been dealing with awful acne for about 7 years, and I would be willing to help anyone, it is quite awful. I have also had experience with light lasar surgery? is it called, trying to remove scars. Accutane is pretty much a last resort, but at least while you on it, it will most likely work miracles, and for most people continue to after they stop, by reducing oil production and there for less acne. Unfortunately I have not been so lucky, but people who started with worse acne then I, it helped immensely. (but thats not to say my acne could not have been bad, i have been on some form or multiple forms of prescription both oral and creams, gels, rinses, etc. for about 6 going on 7 years. Its retched and it really runs my life, but I am getting way better with mentally moving on. Please email me if you need. L0v3lyr1ta@yahoo.com
