He said I wasn't one of his best friends. He said that he might be one of my best friends, but I wasn't one of his best friends. I was somebody he could count on, but I wasn't one of his best friends.

So my question is
How does this happen? And how often?
Two people have totally different views of their friendship.
How did I get such a low status. He had told me he wanted to be as important to me as my best friend is. I gave him that status. One day he referred to me as his co-worker. How can he want me to elevate him to as big as my best female friend...but I don't get the same respect?

ASK HIM!!! Really, I would of, pretty unfair thing for him to do. If I'm to assume anthing it be in too flavours, ether he really got some love for you and is trying to be slick about hiding it. Are he is just a jerk who doesn't see how... unfair, arrogant, sick he is being, educate your friend one way or another with your opionin of the matter. Also understand that getting DARN close to an individual (most of your conversation is based around parts of you, that you don't want anyone hearing, knowing, or seeing) weather its all good stuff or all bad stuff makes them your bestfriend, which means you lieing to him!!!! Tell him this stuff and you'll atleast be getting closer to being his best friend..... its not a perfect disney relationship to be best friends in our world, because quite frankly no ones perfect.
