ANY food that you get from your local supermarket or walmart is CRAP!! Iams USED to be a good food when it was sold at the pet stores but is now garbage as they lowered their quality to be able to sell their foods at your supermarkets and stores.
they're low at cost, though you may end up with an overweight kitty, with a nice vet bill since these foods are often known as 'mcdonalds' for cats.
I used to feed mine Iams, and she became overweight, inactive and ate until the bowl was empty. Now she gets a better one.. and is complete opposite!
If you chose to feed them these brands, please make sure you give them a GOOD quality of wet food since these dry foods hold no water content and can actually dehydrate your kitties if they're not much of water drinkers.
Some better foods are: Wellness, Origen, California Natural, and Innova. You may pay more, but your cat will eat less and it may save you in the long run.

It matters very much. It can mean the difference between a long healthy life and a short, disease-filled one.
First, dry food isn't good as a diet staple. It serves no purpose other than to keep a cat alive. Canned food - or a properly balanced raw meat diet - is the only way to go.
Although 9 Lives isn't a good food either, it's better than Meow Mix dry.

At 10 months you should be feeding kitten food -- at least until he is a year old. Dry food is better for his teeth and promotes better muscular development. Another benefit is that you can fill the bowl and just let him snack all day because it doesn't "go bad". It isn't as messy and it's cheaper, too.
We personally tested wet vs. dry with two litters born about the same time. One litter had only wet food and the other only dry. The kittens eating dry food were more muscular and active than those eating the wet food. The genetics of the kittens were similar -- the momma cats were littermates and the male cats were littermates, too (different from the mommas).

meow mix is ok but not the best. Iams and eukanuba is the top of the line, very well made, good quality ingredients. But it's a little bit more costly, if you want to go for all natural, there's some websites online that you can check out. I think it's important to feed the best food possible for at least a year when they are young because then they grow on good quality food.

I hate meow mix and 9 lives. those are junk food cats foods. look at the back of bag that ur feeding ur cats and whats the 1st ingredient? it needs to be meat. not flour, corn, etc. they are naturally carnivores.
i feed my cats and dogs science diet, eukanuba, iams, and purina one. they all seem to think theyre pretty tasty. also they aren't over weight, aren't under weight, and have nice coats.

Most cats prefer wet food to dry, but dry food is more versatile and cheaper. If they are hungry enough they will eat anything you put down for them. Just make sure that it is far enough away from people so they will not feel threatened.

You should feed your cat different varities of food including can food and dry food. Try Whiskas,Friskies,Purina, and Science Diet. This is what I feed my cats and they absolutly love it. It does matter what you feed your cat. It needs his/her nutirion because without proper nutrition your cat can get sick. Feed your cat whatever he/she likes best. Dont forget to include treats and always supply fresh water.
