Death to Followers of Other Religions

Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)

Kill Nonbelievers

They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

Kill Men, Women, and Children

"Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT)

Dawn C is right on! Great post, Dawn.

However, I might add, you have your eras mixed up. There were no Christians in that era, as Christ had not yet been born. There were no Muslims at that time either.

It does not teach that. What you are reading is written to the people of Israel under the old covenant. In the day that it was written, the people of Canaan were very wicked people. They were an abomination to God because they offered their children in the the fire to the idol Molech, they committed terrible sexual sin, and they worshiped idols, which is the one most thing that seems to disgust God more than anything. These were WICKED people. When God made a covenant with the people of Israel, they were told to wipe these people out because, well you know the old saying, bad company corrupts good morals. He knew that if they hung around these people, they would be tempted to commit the same sins as the pagans. So God wanted them wiped out. We are not under the old covenant today. You have to realize this was a record of HISTORY, which is no longer applicable today. The old covenant was done away with on the cross, when Jesus became the perfect sacrifice. He said, "It is finished", meaning the old covenant is done. Now the law has been fulfilled, and God is doing a new thing in the earth for man. Instead of wiping man out, He offers them salvation through faith in Christ. That's a totally different approach. So don't think that the Jewish covenant is still in effect. It was finished when Jesus died.

If you look at the quotes you entered you will see that they are all old testament and not relating to killing all non-believers but a specific group of people during a specific event or time during which there were people and things causing the believers problems. God said this to help remove the temptations and keep his believers and people alive and safe. It was not done just to kill non believers. The New Testament says we are to love one another, that if we are struck in the face we should turn the other cheek. That we should forgive people for doing us wrong not 7 times, but 7 times 70. So I ask you this question can you find a part in the New Testament where it says to kill non believers? If so I would like to know of it. Remember that one always has to look at thing in context of the time period, and the story as a whole not just bits and pieces of it. By doing that one can make any document or writing mean hundreds of things that it is really not saying. I hoped that helped you some. =)

People who think the God of the Bible was always "nicey-nicey" are usually in for a shock when they actually start reading the Book. God's idea of righteous is very strict, and He commands absolute loyalty from those who claim to follow Him. Don't like that? Tough.

God is not the master of "I'm ok, you're ok, it's all ok." Some things are NOT ok, according to the God of the Bible, and sometimes the penalty (in the Theocracy of ancient Isreal) for sin was death. Worshipping demons (the pagan gods were recognized as EVIL spirits) brought a death sentence. I could be wrong, but it could have something to do with their ancient worship practices, which included bestiality, prostitution of male and female children, and human sacrifice.

Do you want such worship practices be allowed now? The last I knew, such activities (in our "modern" culture) were considered CRIMINAL behaviour. I have no problem with giving someone who rapes and kills children the death penalty! THIS is what the Canaanite cults were known for, and it is THIS BEHAVIOUR that threatened the very basis of Judaic society.

BTW, when these verses were written, Christians and Muslims did NOT EXIST. There is no such command to "Kill all Muslims" or "Kill all non-Christians" ANYWHERE IN THE BIBLE. Your original question is either basically flawed(ignorance), or patently false (deceptive). Which is it?

While it is true that Muslims are always blame for the evils happening today and their scripture totally scrutinize so as to show that Islam is not only cruel and violent but also demonic, the rest of the world oftentimes forget that compared to the blood-thirsty history of Christianity and Judaism and its sadistic teachings taken directly from the bible: Islam is like a white spot engulfs by the darkeness of both religions.

But the funny thing is, those who are louder in condemnation of Muslims and Islam as demonic and evil are those who call themselves as Christans and Jews. They don't see the evil and demon of their own teachings and dogmas but are very quick to pass judgement on others.

I seldom find atheists attacking Islam. But the most rabid islamophobics, islam-bashers and islam-haters are those people claiming to be reading and following the Bible yet as the same time supporting the governments in dropping bombs over the heads of those "heathens" of far away lands...

Remember when you point a finger at others, the other three fingers point at you...

They are christian or jew or muslim because they think that they were worthy of god's attention only once in the human history and that too approximately 2000 and 1500 yrs and the rules set at that barbaric time are eternally true. And the times are changing against the God's will and it should be set back to the old ones. Because there are no new rules and laws given by God about how to behave in changing times. They do not have the opportunity to enjoy openness and god's promise that changing rules in favour of Humanity will help them. On the contrary god has told them he will not send anybody to them in future.

What's your point? How do translate these two examples into The Bible saying that all Muslims and all non-Christians be killed? 2 Chronicles was relating something that had happened, not laying down for future conduct. Ezekiel: same thing, relating something that had happened, not laying down the law for future conduct. Exodus: Old Testament, proscriptions in New Testament invalidate this.

None of your quotes show that the Bible says to kill Muslims and non-Christians..you sound very sick.

Maybe you should have addressed your question to Jews since all of your quotes are taken from the Old Testament.

When the old Testament was written, there were no Muslims or Christians. Your question is filled with mischief...grow up!

Exodus 22:19 was a reference to people living in Israel, and since Israel didn't control the world, this was not a command to kill "all" non-believers (and since islam didn't exist yet it obviously wasn't a command to kill all muslims).

Ezekiel 9:5-7 was not a command to a human, so it's not command for people to kill anyone. And as you may have heard, Jesus's sacrifice for us ended OT law to a great degree. Hope this helps.

it doesn't.

firstly, Islam didn't exist during the writing of the Bible. secondly, the New Covenant prohibits murder, for "we wrestle not with flesh and blood but with principalities and powers of darkness".
thirdly, those of other religions (except under extremely rare cases like those with a mental disability, seek God whole heartedly in a way, etc) do die. think about it.
