No. I wouldn't and by the way, it is a sin to kill anyone in Islam, no matter how bad the person may be.
I am a convert Muslim (a complicated issue) but the rest of my family (read: relatives) was born into Islam and some of them have chosen to abandon the religion for Hinduism and Christianity.
Even though what they have done is considered "shirk" (means partnership, sharing or associating, but Islamically it refers to the act of assigning partners to Allah in whatever form it may take) and it is considered the biggest sin in Islam, I have not cut off any connection with them cos at the end of the day, they're family. Even after explaining to them and advising them, it seems they won't change their mind and are happy the way they are.
After all, in the Quran, it is mentioned that Allah gave humans free will meaning they could choose between the good or bad, the right or wrong, the truth or deception etc. So, based on this free will, we make our choices in life and live with the consequences of our decisions and actions.
At the end of the day, it is really up to people to decide whether they believe Islam is the true religion or not, or that God does not exist at all, even after listening about Islam. As it is also mentioned in the Quran, let there be no compulsion in religion.

Most Western countries guarantee religious freedom. From my limited understanding of the matter, it is considered a betrayal of Islam to leave the religion but there is no call for any action against an apostate. It is perhaps a misuse of hadithic tradition or rulings and should be looked into by various experts on the matter.

It's usually the killer's Religious beliefs, not the victim's that cause the killing. It used to be the province of Religious Fanatics and paranoid schizophrenics. But, it's worked it's way into the mainstream of the 3 book religions. "Morality" has usually been little more than a set of excuses to do people bad. And now, thanks to TV preachers of all Religions around the world, it's the fastest growing justification for murder. When beliefs become so extreme that they can be supported neither by Faith or Reason, violence becomes the Defense. But, for an increasing number of folks, violence has become an end in itself and the ascendancy of their Religion an end that only exists to justify the means they love so much. But, to answer your question, no. It's not something I find acceptable. I just wish more Americans felt the same way.

After reading the Quran, I have come to the conclusion that the angels told Mohammed to share many things with the believers. One was that he, Mohammed was just a messenger. Through out the book, it says that God is Merciful and will will forgive who he pleases and bring chastisement on those he pleases.
There is a constant reminder that those who believe in Allah will be rewarded in Heaven and those who do not will be cast into the fires of hell. This is the warning on a spiritual level.
There is mentioned the words fear through out. So you must fear your God. Islam also reached that Jesus was a messenger of Allah and should be honored and respected as such. Islam teaches fear but Jesus did not. Jesus taught that Allah was his father. He did not teach that he was God. He said there is no other God. To answer your question. There are Christian and other religions that shun others who leave their faith. But to kill someone is a violation of your own faith. I don't know of any faith that is that much fear based that they would kill their own people for leaving the religion. The Bible which you also follow, says by the Commandments given to Moses, that you believe was a messenger. From Allah was give the words, " Thou shall not Kill.
The Quran says to do good and God will reward you. You are able to defend yourself. Even the angels agree, But to Kill someone openly for something like they left your religion would be dark, not Of Allah. That would be a mans perversion of the Laws of Allah. Only he has the right to do this. You would agree?
Praise be to Allah, the one and true God. Praise be to Jesus, His only begotten son who God has given this universe to rule over. If your religion accepts the bible, then it must accept the words. The Old Testament God was written about by men who described. An eye for an eye. Jesus said to Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Shalom

i wouldnt kill anyone for any reason.
islam doesnt allow killing a person who converts to another religion.it says: you have your religion, i have mine.
this means that everyone has their choice by their free will.
but islam shows through the QURAN and the SUNNAH,ie wisdom of Prophet Mohammed, that any human who has knowledge of Islam had better follow it because it is the last message of God . thus , being a Muslem is a requirement to go to heaven after weighing the virtues and the vices of a person.
God has two aspects in Islam, FORGIVING when the individual acknowledges his sins and asks for forgiveness , and promises God not to repeat his sins.
the other aspect is , Punishing when an individual is unfair , hypocritical, or blasphemous.
so , God for the Muslims doesnt inspire fear except to those who stick to their sinful attitudes. HE incites us to ask for HIS forgiveness and turn a new page to go to heaven.
