No it definently does not mean you will get cancer. Many things contribute to cancer but wether or not you have a mole has nothing to do with it. I had Cancer 3 years ago. i had Ewings Sarcoma. Trust me I have moles all over me I went to Children's Hospital in Columbus Ohio and it has absolutely nothing to do with how many moles I had. It's just an unlucky thing that unfortunatly happens to some of us. Good Luck and keep looking up. You should always research something with Yahoo or ask.com before you believe something like that. Whoever told you that probably was either trying to scare you or was joking. Good Luck.

NO, it doesn't mean you'll get cancer. A mole is just a result of the pigment of your skin being different than the rest of your skin, but the thing with moles is that they can be more prone to getting cancer which is why you should make sure that your moles don't start to become a different shape other than round, or have scabs on them, etc because those should all be checked out by a doctor. Moles can appear any time, any age, they do not go away unless you have them removed which is a common procedure.

Anyone mole or no mole can get cancer. And moles do not go away. Moles do however increase your risk of skin cancer. Your best bet is too always use sunscreen, limit your contact with the sun. And keep an eye on your moles, if they start to change in anyway see a doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As far as getting rid of them, that will require surgery or "freezing".

I've got a gazillion spots on me. My dermatologist, who I should have on retainer, says there are about 130 different growths you can have on your skin, but our language only has a few words- none of 'em entirely clear- to describe these things. I think the statistics are there- some skin cancers start as moles. But that's no reason to fret right now. There are other things to consider, like your lifestyle- do you spend a lot of time in the sun? And the appearance of this one little mole is imporant, too- if it has sharply defined edges, you're less likely to have to worry about it. If it bothers you for any reason (cosmetic or pain), go see a dermatologist. I don't know if any moles go away on their own- might depend on which of those 130+ growths you're talking about, and it'll be up to a dermatologist to tell you which it is. And I can't get philosophical about the what for and why moles exist. Like I said, my should-be-on-retainer dermatologist regularly takes 'em off. Some he cuts off, a few he freezes off. I think if you have one, it's not worth worrying about. It's when you get dozens that you need to keep an eye on 'em. But best bet- go see a dermatologist.

no always, you should always keep an eye on moles for sudden changes in size shape or color. your best bet to be examined by a dematologist. My daughter is 2 and she has a couple moles. I have had a few moved for cosmetic reasons and they were never cancerous. Moles do not go away on their own. you have to have the removed by a doctor. sometimesw they can be frozen off(using a special chemical) and some moles need to be removed with minor surgery. Mine were removed with a local anesthetic. It wasn't a big deal. Long term adn excessive sun exposure is more likley to cause skin cancer

Dear Veronica, the fact that you have a mole does not mean that you will get cancer. Most moles appear at child birth and they do not go away on their own. They do not have any particular function and should be removed by a dermatologist. Do not be afraid and have it attended as soon as you can.

OF COURSE NOT!!! If you have a mole that changes shape or color, you should see your doctor to have it removed and tested just in case you may have cancer. That's probably what you've heard.
