Does it hurt if the projector doesnt have the RS-232 port?

I want to buy Infocus in72 and it doesn't have one. I want to use it for watching DVD movies and doing presentation only. Is it important to me this RS-232 and when can I use it?

No it is not
The RS-232 is used in commercial applications to remotely control (example, turn on/off) the projector.
