I just hooked my plasma up to my home theater. can i use my tv remote to control both volumn on tv and theater

If so, how do I wire it?

Only if you have a universal remote.
Check your manuals (both the TV and the AVR). If at least one is a universal remote, check to see if they have codes for the other.
Otherwise, buy a cheap universal LEARNING control.

Well...are they the same brand? You might be able to if they are the same brand. If not you should use your home theatre's receivers remote for volume and just use the receiver for audio. Mute your TV. That should work as well.

Get a universal remote.
