I had quite a big one on my neck and searched for answers and found that people would cut them off but being on immunosuppressant’s i did not like that idea. Then i read that many people had success by tying string/dental floss around the base tightly. I tired the method and it worked and left no scare or infection. Each morning and night i would wash the skin tag with Hydrogen peroxide and tighten the string as tight as possible each morning (put a bandaid over it when at work) After 2 day it went black and 4th day it just fell off. Just note that you only get one chance to tie string around base so be careful!

One last note other sites state you could get an infection and should get them freezed off etc but i was fine

I would agree that going to a doctor is probably best...and I don't believe I've had any lately...but I think I had a couple of those a few years ago and I pinched & twisted it off...never to come back. Now I'm not sure if it was a skin tag though as there was no bleeding. I would give the string a shot...what could it hurt?

Yes they can, I use to have 4 on my neck and one on my arm. I tied a little bit of string tightly around them and in a couple of days they just fell off. I recommend you do it, it doesn't hurt either.

That's not a good idea because they have been known to bleed profusely.

I went to my doctor and had them taken off with some sort of electric instrument that 'zap" they were gone in a second....just a pinch, no pain.

You should have a doctor remove them. The doc will check to make sure that they are benign. He/she can remove them in seconds in a regular visit with a scalpel and proper sterilization.
