I need to lose about 50 pounds also. I've lost approximately 50 pounds twice before. One time I did it by eating smaller portions and exercising (mainly walking a lot and swimming). The other time I did it in a less healthy way by hardly eating anything--basically, the starvation diet method. That time the pounds came shedding off faster than my clothes could keep up with. That didn't work too well, however, because as soon as I got down to my desired weight I almost instantly started becoming extremely hungry and I soon gained all the weight back. I think the fact that I started smoking once I was thin the second time didn't help either. Just make sure to count your calories and exercise as much as you can. You will gain a lot of confidence once you lose the weight. I remember how my confidence level skyrocketed each time I lost weight and remained high for as long as I kept the weight off.

Consumer Reports recently rated the Volumetrics Eating Plan as the best approach to weight-loss dieting. Simply put, for each food, calculate the caloric density by dividing the number of calories in a serving by the weight of the serving. Then you focus your attention on eating more low-density foods than high-density ones. They fill you up sooner, so your calorie intake drops, and you lose weight. You can continue the plan indefinitely (after you get to your desired weight, just add a few high density foods to maintain it), so this diet has a good chance to keep you at your desired weight once you get there. There is a book available, "The Volumetrics Eating Plan", published this year.
Cardio and aerobic exercising will help you to reach your goal by burning off calories, and you will become healthier in the bargain. Exercise for 30-45 minutes three times a week, getting your heart rate up to 70% of your safe maximum (220 minus your age). You don't have to do the total time all at once, you could split it up into two or even three sessions.

Well I've never been fat or anything but I did have some extra poundage here and there that was a little flabby. I joined Gunnar Peterson's Core Secrets program (coresecrets.com), which is an exercise program based on using a stability ball and 5 lb. dumbbells. You get two new DVDs every two months and they work EVERY part of your body & slowly increase the difficulty the longer you've been doing it....I would recommend it for sure. After being on the program, my entire body has changed. There's really no way to say this without sounding conceited, but because of it, I have an awesome body. Now this portion is going to help you lose inches and tone your body, but you also need to make sure you're eating more protein and complex carbs and cutting out sugar and saturated fats....it's a very involved thing and you really need to commit yourself. Good luck!

Nearly any workout regimen will work , if you do it faithfully.
A workout in the morning will give you the most benefit, as it will boost your metabolism for the day. Eat healthy (don't have to join a tofu or granola cult). Cut out the potato chips and other snack foods. Just because a label says no fat or low fat, doesn't mean it's healthy. Low fat but high carbohydrates will still make you fat. Your body converts extra unused carbs to fat. No more ice cream, try jello instead. I lost 20 lbs in 4 months with little effort but lots of consistency, it works. Best wishes.

I entered a 90 day contest at a local gym that went from mid October to mid January several years ago.The only day that I did not go to the gym in that 90 days was Christmas(the gym was closed). I lost 40+lbs and 15%+ bodyfat.I won the contest for the best transformation.
Then I studied for and became a personal trainer.
Now I am a personal trainer, aerobics instructor and I run fitness boot camps.

Well I basically just went outside for half an hour a day with my dog, and ate food that was grilled and had no flavor what so ever and just limited all my fat and carb intake.
I used to weight 140kg I now weigh 70kg, now I do:
Sit ups, Squats, pushups and lunges in lots of 25x3 in the morning, and a short jog before breakfast and I walk my dog for an hour of a night before bed. I eat more fat/carbs/protein now to make up for this and to try and build up some muscle mass.
Hope this helps. Apparently my weight was dropping dangerously low, so I had to start putting on muscle.

Hi Bailey! Drink only water, eat 5-6 small meals a day(healthy stuff, not fast food or chinese)take a multi vitamin/mineral, and get 3 days of 30 minute or more cardioworkouts. Weight training doesnt hurt either. Get yourself a planner and work towards goals, or sign up for LA weight loss center if they have one there. I hope you get to where you wanna be!!

There is really no secret formula, if you wanna lose the weight and keep it off then you are better off just eating healthier food and excising. You should always consult your doctor before starting any weight loss program. There are also tablets and other things that can help lose the weight fast but i think this way deprives you of food and it is harder to keep the weight off. Just sensible eating and staying active will really help.
