If its once in a while, it's most likely an itch. Everyone has itches.
But to answer you question, yes you can visibly see fleas. Just "pet" her fur from her tali to her neck slowly, if she has fleas, you will see them when the skin is exposed.
Also, when she's on her back with her belly up, do the same thing. A good place to see a flea on a cat is on the stomach where more skin is visible.
As long as she's on the monthly flea treatment, if she gets a flea here and there, they will die.
A bath every now and then will also help.

If she only has a few you may not be able to see them. The best thing (other than your vet) would be to get a flea comb (small comb with really little space between the teeth) from any store. If you use the comb, you might find fleas or most likely flea dirt. Comb over her back and especially near the base of the tail in the direction of the hair. Put the hair and dandruff on a paper towel and dampen it a little and rub it around. The flea dirt will be little black specs and when it gets wet it looks little reddish smears. I'm not sure what you're using for fleas but most flea preventatives have to be given every month, so that may be why she gets a few fleas in between. If she does have fleas, you will probably have to treat the house as well as her to get rid of them. Hope this helps, and remember you can always call your vet - no question is too stupid when it comes to the health of your pet!

Yes you can see fleas. Best way to make sure is to use a comb with the teeth very close together. Comb it through the fur and look at what's on the teeth. Fleas will be caught between the comb teeth in with the fur, showing up as moving brown things about the size of a sesame seed.
Don't be afraid to have a vet check for parasites, better to be safe than sorry. They'll not be making fun of you or thinking you're stupid, don't worry.

possibly..fleas can nonetheless bounce on her, yet whilst she has been taken care of with the Frontline interior the final 4 weeks, as quickly as the flea is one her for a given volume of time, it is going to die. If it quite is been greater desirable than 4 weeks because of the fact her therapy, practice yet another tube. you ought to coach it each 4-6 weeks as mandatory. do no longer bathe her..this could in basic terms burn up the Frontline and flea dips are infamous for being truthfully ineffective for long-term flea administration.

Yes, but definitely they are REALLY really small. I don't know which treatment you are using for your cat, but I've been told that Advantage cream is really good. (It costs aproximately 80 dls) but it last for 6 months.
If not, try a second opinion with another vet, perhaps can tell you something different that can work in your cat.
Good luck.

Examine her fur. Look for anything brown or moving. Cats do scratch themselves simply for an itch.
