if you have marijuana on you should you say you found it on the ground five minutes before or does the obvious bs only make things worse for you? what kinds of things can you say or do to make it harder for them to prosecute you?

1. Never admit to anything.

2. Cops are not in the business of being your friend. Their sole purpose in life is to enforce the law: To arrest and try to convict you. If you understand that, then you will be better off.

3. Refer to #1: Never admit to anything. Never voluntarily allow them to search your car. If they really have probable cause, they will obtain a warrant. If they don't, don't allow yourself to be intimidated.

4. There is nothing that you can really say. I don't indulge in illegal activities myself, but if I did and was caught , I would simply not say anything at all.

Vinicaire has it right. If you are busted you are most likely busted anyway. So possibly it is worth a shot to be honest if you just have a joint....... honesty is refreshing and you might be let go. Even if not in court things could go much better when the officer testifies that you admitted to it staright up as this shows some responsibility. Regardless you have it and have access to it (found it on the ground, why did you pick it up) you own it.

Not to be preachy but think about it........ if you have to expend that much energy on not getting busted and not messing up your life what is the payoff? That mental energy should be expended on how to make tons of money later and have everything one wants. Not trying to figure out how to get away with something.

Nothing can keep you from getting arrested unless it's a nice cop. Marijuana tends to be a common thing that police deal with so chances are if you're honest with him and it's not a ridiculous amount of it, he'll probably just give you a ticket anyway.

It doesn't matter what you tell them because it was found on you that is called possession of an illegal substance, so guess what the police have the right to charge you it's up to their discretion, meaning that they decide if they want to charge you or not. however, being honest is always the best policy because it shows that you were co-operative and they might let you off or the judge might give you a lighter sentence.

Why lie? After dealing with people who lie constantly it becomes easier to tell when someone is lying.

Put it this way...if I find marijuana on you and you have lied to me or deny it is yours, you will be getting a ticket.

If you admit to it and are 100% honest...there is a very good chance you will see me grind it under my boot and then walk away without a ticket.

If you have marijuana on you there is nothing you can say to make me believe it is not yours. Absolutely nothing.

If they find it on your person, you are sunk. Remember, possession is 9/10ths of the law. If it is in your car, or in a car you are driving, you are responsible for that motor vehicle, its occupants and its contents. So to answer your question, the best defense is not to carry it in the first place.

Don't make up stories, however don't admit anything. Remember never say a word without a lawyer present, pretend your mouth has a zipper on it & it is locked shut. The lawyer then will tell you the best route to take, the cops will take what ever you say, turn the word around to suit them, no matter what you truly meant to say.

definite. you are able to tell them "it replaced right into a pretend effect" later. yet once you lie, they're going to think of you're hiding some extensive secret or something. make confident once you commute, to no longer take ANY weed with you etc. they're waaaaaay too stict.

Doesn't make any difference HOW you got it. You have it in your possession. Unless you are Lindsey Lohan, don't even try that one. Once they have it in your possession, they need nothing else and theres nothing you can say or do to lessen getting prosecuted.

It depends on how much and where you live. Here in CA it's legal (per state law not federal)so if you have a buyers card they can't do anything. I've heard most cops around here will just make you dump it on the ground unless you are being an ***.

Carry less than one ounce on you. Don't have multiple baggies or scales in your vehicle or they'll bust you for distribution.
