Spirituality is a religious concept and, therefore, has no connection with reality.

It doesn't have to work that way but it often does when that intelligence gets combined with the educational system. Intelligence itself is not an enemy of the spirit...in fact, many of the most intelligent people who ever lived are those that were in touch with their spiritual side. Einstein, Steven Hawking, Sir Issac Newton, and more...no, I'm not claiming they were Christian or even practiced a particular religion. However, all of them acknowledge the possibility (even probability) of a creator (God).
The people that are least connected with their spiritual side (IMHO) are those whose intelligence is largely a product of the educational system instead of natural ability. The educational system is largely hostile to religion and spirituality. Things that can't be explained can't be "known" and the system values knowledge over all else. I'm a part of the "ivory tower" and the arrogance of the system is that if it isn't "knowledge" is it worthless. The truly intelligent question everything they hear and can easily distinguish between what is known and what is unknown...everyone else sits by blindly while their professors (and others) teach whatever they think and believe while failing to point out the difference between a fact and an assumption. No wonder so many educated people reject their spiritual side...they've been taught that it doesn't exist!

Isaac Newton, a devout believer and the odds of a mind like his calculated at coming sometime every 500 some years.
Einstein, not exactly Christain but still spiritual, completely blew away scientific theories of that time, still does.

I don't think that's neccesarily true...It's just that most people who are "connected to their spiritual side" don't agree with scientific studies and stuff.
Some religious people believe that science actually support religion.
And there are some non-spiritual people still think that there are some things that science cannot (or should not) explain.
So.

The word is HAUGHTY (proud) NOT INTELLIGENT
And yet not a one of them can make a simple hair upon his head
2Sa 22:28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes [are] upon the haughty, [that] thou mayest bring [them] down.
