Yes that's what my vet prescribed for my cat who's very allergic to some things. BUT call your vet and ask how MUCH to give though, it's based on body weight.
There's different flavors, don't give the grape, it makes them gag. I was limited with the bubble gum flavor (there was nothing else at the store) and mine hated that, but it did the job.

Yes cats can have benadryl - the dose is 2 - 4 mg/kg or about 1or 2 milligrams per pound (ie if your kitten is about 2 pounds then she can have up to 4 mg). I don't know the strength of the child benadryl, but your kitten may need only half or a quarter of a pill - just look on the label.
However, benadryl is probably not going to help your cat. She isn't doing this because she has allergies, she's doing it because she has an infection. Its pretty common for kittens to go through some sort of upper respiratory infection especially if they are from shelters or pet stores. The only thing the benadryl might do is make her sleepy, and she might stop scratching then. The best thing to do to keep her comfortable is to follow the directions the vet gave you for the medicine and keep her eyes and nose clean of any discharge with a soft damp cloth. If she seems really congested you can keep her in the bathroom while someone takes a nice long hot shower - the humid air can help dislodge some of the congestion. Usually the worst only lasts for a few days, so make sure she is eating and drinking and taking her medicine and she should be fine.

I do know for a fact you cannot give a cat aspirin but not sure about benadryl but i would call your vet first before doing anything no matter what anyone tells you or you may not have a cat.

Vets often recommend Benadryl for itching, but you would have to ask your vet what the proper dosage for your cat would be.

Absolutely not! It is not meant for kittens. I suggest taking your kitten to a different vet. It sounds as if your cat has an underlying problem that antibiotics is not clearing. Your kitten may actually have allergies and need a prescription diet and cortisone shots.

No! Just let the medicine work, she might have an upper respiratory infection, and it takes a bit to go away. If it doesnt, cal the vet again:)

I've given my Jack Russell Terriers Children's Benadryl but before giving it to your kitten I'd suggest talking to the vet to see what dosage you should give.

She is allergic to something either in her environment or her food. Have you tried some of the food for cats with allergies? It worked for my cat. I don't mess human meds with animal meds - to many risks for me to count!
