You beat this once - and you were only 4! You can do it again!
Cancer is scary whatever our age, but we need to know, we can beat it if we fight hard!
Try and stay as positive about things as you can, look for the good side of every situation as you face it, because those positive thoughts help us to fight.
There should be a support group at the hospital, and possibly even help with school!
Do what you can on the good days, rest on the bad days. Homework will help pas the time!
Hugs and get well soon!

You're so young to have to debate these things. I'm not sure how to put this well. Life is about passion. I know from your other question that you are passionate about figure skating. One way to stay strong is to visualize doing it everyday. If your too tired right now to skate imagine when your going to skate again, and how free it makes you feel. think about how strong you're gonna be when your treatment is all over. Think about how impressed the world will be when you skate again. Think about how much stronger of a person this will make you.
as far as, how kids will treat you I have first hand knowledge. I have a friend who had Leukemia when we were in school. I'm not sure if we really treated him any different. He had good days and bad days just like the rest of us. the only difference really, was people admired him for his strength. they would see him acting just like everyone else, but we knew he was fighting. I can't imagine anyone teasing you about it, if that's what you worry about. So many people have been affected by cancer, either personally, or by a friend or in their family.
you only need to think about skating and how wonderful it is to be free.

Strength is to be found in your friends and family's support. Don't hide your fear. It's normal.
Take each day as it comes. Try not to let your fears overcome you. Instead thank God for every day you have and for the strength to endure. Keep on with your ongoing daily life as much as you can; keep a journal of your thoughts and feelings. It's amazing how cathartic writing can be to vent, to express your emotional journey and you will have many thoughts and feelings through this. Fear is just simply an emotion, it's natural, vent it, use it, create with it......I wrote my best prose when I was challenged in my own fight against cancer. I just kept on writing through the fear and the tears. Fighting is all encompassing........................it's prayer, it's hope, it's love, it's anger, it's letting go, crying sometimes and laughing sometimes and thankfulness. It's a journey all its own.
Don't hide from your friends the fact that you are ill and battling something very real and visible. We are all fighting something in our spirits and in our lives that mostly remains invisible and you'd be surprised at what an inspiration you are just be being open and ok with people knowing your struggles and just being yourself. At the same time, this will save all your energies that you will need for this fight. Openness is very freeing.

wow...you already have a lot fo strength! I admire you. Just remember to fight with all you've got. YOu will make it through this. Are there support groups for teens with cancer at your hospital? I think that might be the best place to find support. If you can talk to others that are going through the same thing and are similar in age, I bet you guys can come up with great ways to deal with classmates and others. I wish you well. Just remember to take care of you first! Take care!

I'm almost 13 and have had Ewings Sarcoma which is a large tumor the size of a fist inside attached to my brain. I have gone through 42 weeks of Chemotherapy treatments and 31 radiation treatments. I have done all this 3 times. Don't worry as long as you have people who love you you can do it. There's always light at the end of the dark tunnel.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Stay positive. You have family and true friends that will support you through your battle. It may seem unfair that you have to go through so much at such a young age, but you can be strong enough to get through it.
Make sure you and your parents are informed about all the treatment options - there are new ones all the time.

i agree with the first post..you'll really find strength in those people who are going thru the same ordeal because in them you will learn how they cope with the same sickness. but most especially, i think nobody else can ever uplift your spirit than your own family,,, i think that's the best. i dont know your religion but id like to say that im a catholic and whenever im faced with so much trouble in life i really pray hard for guidance and strength...
