I got home today almost crying I hate it so much...I want to quit ASAP, but my next shift is not until Wednesday night and I am hoping to quit before then...I'm hoping they will tell me Wednesday will be my last day, but I am NOT going to work past next weekend even though that is not two weeks.

See...I am not even sure who my boss is..its pretty disorganized and someone different is in charge all the time...and I think the head of the place is on vacation.

Wow, at first when I saw this with almost the same avatar and we have the same name, I thought I wrote it and forgot about it. I'm with you. I work again tomorrow and want to quit tonight

Write / type a notice of termination letting your employer know that you plan to quit. Deliver this in person ASAP, do not wait until Wednesday. When you arrive at your workplace deliver it to the most senior person there. Do not give it to a secretary, cashier, etc. If they as any questions answer them honestly, but respectfully.
Understand that depending both on the state you live in and the company you work for you may have an obligation to give notice. By not giving the appropriate notice, if required, you may not only put a future reference in jeapordy but you may disqualify yourself from various government programs to include unemployment benefits and certain forms of welfare.
I'd recommend spending an hour finding out the laws of your state and the policies of your company, then follow them. I understand that you want to quit now but a few weeks is not a long time and by following the laws and policies you ensure a situation that works in your favor instead of creating a lot of problems down the road (employers do not look favorably on employees who simply quit). Good Luck

I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience on your first job. Go ahead and quit that place they call a business and write your letter. There are much better jobs to choose from and it sounds like that place is surely never going to get any better with their lazy employees and a manager who is mad at the world knowing she herself is stuck at a dead end job. I started out 40 years ago at a Dairy Queen, and although it was minimum wage at the time, I really enjoyed working there. I liked all the employees including the Manager and Owner. I was 15 years old and worked through out High School. I actually had fun there and count it as one of my best work experiences.Managers should be patient and kind and try to help you get ahead within the work place.Don't waste your time sticking it out at a place that is an enemy to anyone who desires to work there.

Call your boss tomorrow and tell him or her that you are quitting, and follow up with a written notice saying the same thing - mail that tomorrow.
Good luck in finding a new job that works out better for you than this one is.

Go and see your boss tomorrow. and tell him you are going to leave, doing it this way shows you have character, don't quit over the phone. That shows immaturity.
Your next employer may call your ex boss and ask for a reference. You won't get one if you don't act mature enough to go and face your boss when you tell him you quit
