yes talk to your vet. they help a lot. take their advise and do what they suggest. tell them that this hase been going on for three months now because the fleas are still multiplying and more and more difficlut to deal with the longer you wait.. and if they are purbred cats the skin might be more sencitive so dont go crazey with the treatments

Did you flea bomb the house every four (4) days for six (6) times?
If not, do so now.
I had a horrible infestation in my home. The bug bombs don't kill the eggs, and I found that a plan of every 4 days over a long enough time killed the new fleas as they hatched until I had them all killed.
If your cats are house cats, you could also wash all your bedding as the fleas could be in your sheets.
Did you comb the cats with flea combs? That removes the dead fleas and some of the eggs and it is an important help.
Look at the small bottles of kennel dip and see if they can be used on cats for added topical treatment, but don't overdo .... too much flea treatment on human or cat is not good. If you have small sores on your wrists, ankles or waist, you too have been bitten.
Please try this - I think it will work. It did for me. You've done the right things, just not enough of the bug bombing for the most part.

You sound just like me! We have 2 indoor cats that had a horriblew flea problem that lasted for months. We literally tried everything, and spent hundreds of dollars for nothing! To make it worse, one of our cats was allergic to most of the flea treatments! So, we had a serious talk with our vet about what to do. He gave us a few things, and they have work GREAT!
The first thing he told us about was a pill called Capstar. Yiour probably thinking, "How can i get my cat to take a pill?" Well, your vet can either give it to your cat, or the pills can be crushed up into a powder! I crushed the pill up to powder, and then stirred in in some Tuna and my cat ate it all up! The pill only cost 3 dollars! After your cat takes the pill, it starts working within 30 minutes. The flea will literally drop dead off of your cat. And the pill is really safe for them too, you can give it to them everyday if you want. I am giving it to my cat everyday, until all the eggs have had time to hatch and die. I am seriously amazed by this pill. I wish i would have know about it before i spent hundreds of dollars! I dont have to worry about sprays, etc. Just give them a pill. My cats have been flea free since we started the pill.
We also bought some flea treatment that you put on the back of their necks. But this stuff works alot better than Frontline, Advantage, etc. Its called Promeris. It kills the fleas AND eggs, and it safer because its not as likely to cause a reaction for the cat. It only cost us about 15 bucks for a 1 month supply. And, you can use it at the same time you use the pill!

Ask your vet if he or she will prescribe this product: Revolution. I have been using it for months and have not seen a flea. I recently rescued 6 kittens out of the neighborhood and they were covered. The fleas were gone in an hour. It also repels mosquitos, treats and prevents ear mites, and prevents round and heart worms. It costs about 12 dollars an application and lasts a month. You apply it the same way you do Frontline. After you apply it to your cats, you need to re-flea bomb your house to get rid of the fleas so they aren't biting you. You can find Revolution at Drsfosterandsmith.com for 55 dollars for a 6 application pack. You have to get your vet to fax in the prescription though.

I use a natural product called DE ( food grade) - there's lots of info on-line about the stuff- its not to be used in the yard -only in the home and on the animals- good stuff!! Flea cycles should be considered when treating the yard - you have to have the exterminator come several times to get rid of the fleas- are you sure it's fleas?? also, if you have carpet, fleas are soooo hard to get rid of - we put tile in the house- Good luck!!

Have you consulted with a vet about the types of fleas in your area?
The health department would be my second phone call. Sometimes stronger chemicals are needed and they'd be the ones to talk to since they're familiar with parasites in your area.
