Sorry but if you bought even a jar of peanut butter you can clearly see that money and power say this world is not just about English, most labels of food products and any other instruction labeling will be in both English and Spanish, money runs this country and it will not matter what language you speak it has the same value, if you want to make it in the new global economy then you must think in bigger terms, and if your in the banking industry well your only falling behind and cheating your self if you don't make your self more valued by speaking 2 different languages, think of it like this, if you are willing to speak both spanish and english that puts you at the top of the list for top pay and travel and tons of respect, very fue people are bilingual but the ones that are are making big bucks and have their pick of jobs around the world, get the picture its not about mexico or america its about being more valuable to yourself.by the way think just how cool you would feel to be able to help get a high dollar customer talked into spending their money where you work just because you could speak spanish, don't think all people from other countrys are poor, fact is most folks from other countrys have more money than your bank has in the valt, so don't kid your self about that, its because all other countrys have a much different view about work they want to make it, americans just like to spend it all before they get it, that is not the way it works every where else on the globe.

Find a job that you are qualified in and that means meetrting all the criteria. If a job says you need to be of the opposite sex I suppose you could moan about that or get over the chip on your shoulder.
If you take your concerns to Case Bank without the they shouldn't be here attitude they may even advise you of jobs within the organisation that do not require Spanish or some other language that is often required to assist those who are dealing with technical subjects to understand and feel more comfortable in their original language even if they are quite competent in English. It is also called customer service and covering ones but legally as if something goes to court no-one can say I didn't understand.

No one is forcing YOU to learn Spanish.
Yes, maybe it isn't fair. Life isn't fair. Didn't you hear that before? If it is a job requirement, then there is nothing you can do about it.It is as simple as that!
Edit-
Suze,
Great song. I loved it. Maybe she can send them this song too! lmao.

Well. You don't have to spend any significant amount of time in eastern Europe to know that many people speak at least 3. This dude i met whilst working a plant in Hungary spoke 5. He lived in Slovakia and commuted by bus each day.
Yeah, so. The point i'm trying to make is, you can hack it. Also, it is a bank. They're not asking you to be 100% fluent in it. It's not as if some wêtback's gonna order a cheeseburger. Start with the words & phrases commonly used in banking. And even if you can't reply back, i'm sure you could point them in the right direction.

I don't think we should have to learn. It pisses me off that they come over here and we have to do everything to accomodate them. I drive down the highway here in Houston and I see billboard signs that I can't even read. I don't have a problem with Mexicans but I do have a problem with the ignorant ones that come over here and are to ignorant to want to learn the language. I also can't stand how they act like Mexico is so great yet none of them want to be there. Now I am about to start taking spanish classes in a week because I can't talk to half of the people that work at my shop. Our company paid for a teacher to come a teach english to people that needed it, and most of the ones that needed it didn't want to take it.

learning a second language is a good idea, and learning Spanish makes the most sense. You need it for business in the Americas.
