The Soldier’s family prayer
The never ending days and nights
We sit and cry while they stand and fight
The lonely letters, a phone call now and then
They tell us they’ll be home we just don’t know when
They represent all that is good in this land
While they fight for freedom in the hot, dry sand
They give too much, sometimes they give all
Because sometimes even heroes can fall.
So far away with their homes on their mind
And the loving families that they left behind
Fighting a war that never seems to end
With innocent people and a country to defend
We should all be grateful that they are there
So we can live our lives without a care
So thanks to the families of the soldiers who fight
And thanks to the soldiers for doing what’s right.
May god keep each and every one of you near
And take care of the ones that you hold so dear
No matter how far your loved ones may roam
I pray for each one a safe return home.

Actually, I do when people post on here that they or a family member are in the military. Honestly, I'd feel pretty dorky doing it in person. I live in a big military area though, so there's plenty of opportunity.

Prayer doesn't work - ask the hostages who were beheaded in Iraq.
Just get a decent government.
