I understand you are not joking, but this isn't a job for you. You are running the risk of too many possible problems. The nerve in the mandible is very close to the wisdom teeth, sometimes even touching, so nerve damage is a real possibility. You could fracture the jaw and are opening yourself up to a "dry socket" infection. A dry socket is extremely painful and the result is seeing an oral surgeon every day for multiple days to check and put a packing into the site. If you have any ill effects from doing the extraction you are going to end up missing school to get treatment and that could really ruin your semester. Consider a dentist willing to take a payment plan, a clinic that charges by sliding scale (based on your income) or possibly care credit
(see this link -http://www.ada.org/public/topics/payment.asp ) or go to a local dental school....
Hope that helps!

I've had my wisdom teeth removed, and let me tell you - it's a very invasive procedure - wisdom teeth go very very deep below you gums. It takes 2 surgeons over an hour to remove just two wisdom teeth and stitch up the holes - plus a week or two of antibiotics to prevent gum infections (I got 3 infections during my healing process).
You would not be able to withstand the pain of the process without deep injections of local anaesthetic. Also, I'm not sure you would be able to reach inside your mouth to stitch up the enormous hole where your wisdom tooth once lay.
Here's a video of a wisdom tooth removal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYNO8yElswk
Your best bet is to try and befriend a dental surgeon.
Good luck.

I hope you are joking. It is not a normal tooth, it is a wisdom tooth and i am even more surprised that you are a nursing student and you don't find it weird to pull it out by yourself. Sounds painful to me just to read about it. I had to have 2 of them pulled out, one was fully erupted but the other only partially and i had to have dissolving stiches. I don't recommend you to do it yourself. Also, do you have dental insurance? My dental insurance (Metlife) covered 80% of price. Just go to oral surgeon and do it the way it should be done.

Cannot imagine the pain that you are experiencing. I recommend seeing a dentist. Many can and will work on a sliding scale or payment program. Also check out www.projectsmile.com. You shouldn't try to extract teeth on your own; too painful and dangerous. Seek a professional ASAP. Best wishes

My guess is you will not be healthy if you try to remove this tooth yourself. You are a nursing student? Then know that you need a dentist to safely remove it. You can always work out a payment plan like most of us, do. But don't endanger your health. Get yourself to a ER if your own dentist is not available. This is not the time to make silly decisions.

Don't pull it yourself - you'll probably cause more problems. A cheap way to go if you do not have dental insurance is through AmeriPlan. They have a low monthly fee, and you can search for providers in your area, as well as for the associated fee/discount schedule Their website is www.reducedcosts.info. Good luck!

IF YOU REALLY ARE A NURSING STUDENT AND IF YOU ACTUALLY STUDIED AND UNDERSTOOD WHAT IT TAKES TO EXTRACT A TOOTH, YOU WOULD ASK WHERE CAN YOU GET THIS DONE @ LOW COST OR FOR A LOW FEE.
DOING THIS YOURSELF IS IMPOSSIBLE.
