Bush promised not to veto any gun bans... with the Demon-crats in congress he was our last line of defense and he turned out to be a traitor to the the Second Amendment and America's gun owners..... who knows what might happen.
Although, if they ban guns and just say no more guns AT ALL and any found will be confiscated, gun owners will not stand for it... unlike Britain or Australia, we have a Constitutional Amendment to rally behind and guns are embedded deeply in our culture. That is why they will NEVER go door to door to collect guns.... because people would look through their peep hole, then start shooting through the door. They will stop the manufacture and import of them and stop manufacture and import of ammo, then tax it so high that no one can afford them.... eventually, they will wear out and there are no guns without making it illegal to own one. People WILL fight an all out gun ban, the Australian man-of-the-year that was the inspiration for Crocodile Dundee was KILLED in a shootout with police in 2004 as they tried to take his guns.... no one heard about the Martyr who died defending his right, he truly believed in the "...colt dead hands" quote..... there is a true hero.

I am afraid beartooth is wrong. I'd recommend getting on the GOA or NRAILA sites and check the legislation not only the federales but for your home states as well. The libs will keep at it. This is not a fight we want to lose like Great Britain or Australia, and the socialist countries of Europe have.
it is too important.
Chunky Scumbag, Fineslim, and Carolyn McCarthy have been pushing to reenable the Clintoons AWB..

The Senate Version remains in Judiciary committee
(likely waiting for a Democrat Control of whitehouse and a super majority).

The house version I don't recall the bill number
Ammo up, buy it cheap bury it deep. I don't trust these bastards to have our best interest at heart..
For What it's worth Bush Jr, Said in 2003 he'd sign the AWB if it were re-authorized. the only thing keeping that from happening is vigilant gun rights organization such as SCI, NRA, and the GOA.

They can ban all the guns they want....trying to collect them will prove to be a problem. Just look at New Orleans after Katrina.
Or the Canadian Gun ban. Or the California SSR assault gun ban.

Yes, thats what we thought here in the UK regarding pistols and auto-loading rifles. They were however, made illegal virtually overnight.
Curiously, since there have been no legally held pistols in the UK, armed crime has increased by 20%. So maybe it was not us..... ?
Don't get complacent, and ensure that you subscribe to an organisation (NRA etc.) that will fight for your rights.

People have been worried about gun rights for too damn long. No one is going to kill our right to bear arms, who wants to piss off and entire country full of gun owners.

The next assault on your Constitutional Rights will occur when the next Democratic Liberal tells enough lies to get himself (or herself) elected.
I'm trying to find a virgin to sacrifice to the election gods to prevent that, but not having much luck finding one.

This is what's called FUD, Fear Uncertainty and Doubt. The next slightly less right wing president is no more going to ban guns than the current one is going to invade a country for political expediency and give incredible tax cuts to all his friends whilts making normal people poor.
