I know it's cliche, but my favorite verse is the 23rd Psalm. Whenever I've been in the most difficult times in life, it has helped me keep things in perspective. At one point, reciting it slowly and the mental images it inspired kept me alive.

I love Luke 2:8-14. I know it's more than one verse, sorry.
"8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.'"

Job 19:23-27 Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book! That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock forever! For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand in the end upon the earth: And though after my flesh has been destroyed, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall see Him, I and not another. OH! How my heart yearns within me!
If Job can say this after all he went through... I have hope of surviving all this world does to me.
After all...I gotta great spouce...
Isaiah 54:1,5 Sing and shout, O barren woman, even though you have never had children! The LORD has promised that you will have more children than someone married for a long time.
For your Maker is your husband; the LORD of hosts is His name: and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He who is called the God of the whole earth.
Peace.

My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13:
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me."
When I was a kid, my father had me and my brother recite that verse every night before going to bed.

Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
God works in "all things" ~ not just isolated incidents ~ for our good. This does not mean that all that happens to us is good. Evil is prevalent in our fallen world, but God is able to turn every circumstance around for our long-range good.
Note that God is not working to make us happy, but to fulfill his purpose.
Note also that this promise is not for everybody. It can be claimed only by those who love God and are called according to his purpose.
Those who are "called" are those the Holy Spirit convinces and enables to receive Christ. Such people have a new perspective, a new mind-set on life. They trust God, not life's treasures; they look for their security in heaven, not on earth; they learn to accept, not resent, pain and persecution because God is with them.
