I mean, History is replete with regents that did everything possible to ensure the success of their own dynasty (granted some were more loyal).
How would the men of the cloth react? Would they crucify our hypothetical jesus again?
Or would they bend backwards to give him the key to the Vatican... INCLUDING ALL THE MONEY THAT HAS BEEN ASSEMBLED OVER THE CENTURIES THROUGH (NOT SO) HONEST MANOEUVERS?
Would the TELEVANGELISTS turn their Cadillacs to jesus?
Would the Fundamentalists of all religions recognize the "return of the king" or would they kill him again?

Would they accept a severe sermon from the "savior" on how NOT TO RUN A RELIGION? Especially not one attached to his name?

Wow; predictably gullible as usual.

So, if I get up there on the stage of one of those big ol churches and announce that I am Jesus, they are supposed to give me all their money and Cadillacs and everything.

Great! Where do I go, I can say that...
Oh, they might want proof, huh? So, Christians, what proof would you need? Let's see, Jesus would need to be white for the Southerners, maybe Hispanic looking in Mexico City, do they nave black Jesuses in Harlem?

This isn't going to be easy. Do you think any f them would agree on one version of a person claiming to be THE MAN!

I doubt it. At least with Mother Earth, She is always there and She looks just like a planet at all times.

He had an immortal Father (God) and a mortal mother (Mary). This allowed him to have both the traits of a God as well as a Human. As for him asking why he had forsaken himself... he didn't. He asked his Father why He had forsaken Him. In most cases the simplest most logical answer is the correct one. God the Father and Jesus are NOT the same person. Jesus wasn't praying to himself, he was praying to a separate and distinct individual... His Father. The Trinity is a modern myth created by man.

If Jesus returned today they would do the same to him as they did 25 hundred years ago, they would simply crucify him again, because religion would not believe who he was, I am sure that they wouldn't nail him to a cross, but you can bet he would be imprisoned or taken out the same way they took out david Koresh.

When Jesus returns it pretty much sounds like He comes back kicking butt and taking names. Not the sacrificial lamb like the first time, but as the fearsome lion of Judah.
I doubt anyone will have the physical capability to rebel against Him at that time and if they did, the rebellion won't last but a second or two.

Someone, in response to this question writes that jesus is coming back for his church and they will greet him with open arms.

I'm thinking the open arms will be 9 millimeter, AK47s and 38's. The most reliable components of christian theology.

I once read a book that postulated this very question. In it the Catholic church used assassins from within their own church to kill him. Why because in real Christianity it doesn't tell the faithful to give money, gold, gems, or precious art to the church to keep it going. If His word isn't good enough to keep the church going, then it shouldn't be a church dedicated to him. In my opinion, the same thing would happen in real life.

Multimillion dollar churches would probably not be willing to acknowledge our lords return, if they were given any choice whatsoever, but his return will not be up to debate by anyone!
