technically it was 1:30 am yesterday morning that i was pulled over for turning right on red where it was not allowed. i was issued two tickets, one for "no turn on red" and the other for driving past midnight on a provisional license. i have a court date set for next month but according to the checkbox next to "court appearance required" i do NOT have to appear in court. several people have told me i have to just go to the court house and pay the fines. (someone also told me i have to make sure they won't mail any paperwork or anything to my house too) if i go tomorrow, which is basically the soonest possible time i could go, will i be able to take care of this matter before my parents hear anything about it? do insurance rates rise for these types of tickets? if it helps, i was pulled over somewhere in monmouth county, nj.

They're going to find out if they pay for your insurance. You might as well be honest and tell them now. Most teens get tickets at some point or other. It would be much more responsible to tell them and deal with it rather then try to hide it. They will find out and you will be in more trouble for hiding it.

Even if those are not technically moving violations if you are a minor and just pay them it will still eventually be reported to the insurance company. When you get to court, checkbox or not the judge will require a parent to show. If you go and try to just pay they will tell you the officer erred...... a parent has to sign off. Otherwise they can be sued.

UK, US and Canada. They will mail something as they are required to do so. This is to notify anybody of any age that they recieved payment.

Best thing to do instead of worrying about this forever is to just fess up to your parents since in so many ways this could go south for you. Judge, court or even if your parent 6 months from now recieve a letter saying the insurance rates are up or you need to dropped from the policy.

If you go to it and tell your parents that will show responsibility. Might be bad at first but the fact that you sat down and told them will have much weight later. Then it will be all out and done so you can go from there.

You may get away with it temporarily. I think once your DMV gets all the paperwork, you may have another court appearance or a letter that may be to terminate your driving priveleges for violating the terms of your permit.

Hon, where were your parents in this? In other words didn't they know you were out after curfew? And if they did and you were not confronted about it by them, than they are just as at fault as you were. Their responsibility is to make sure you are home in your bed before your curfew is up. Blame your parents in not supervising you properly!
