Why say "I love you" to a girl if you really truly dont!! And you know you arent getting into her pants ever. So why insist you love her?
What do you hope to gain from it?

I am 24 years old and yes i know that this is used by guys for SEX!! I wasnt born yesterday!!
This question was just to see how cynical we can be sometimes and even though i agree with you i feel we may lose out on someone in life because of the other low lifes who use I LOVE YOU willy nilly!!

Michel, I have heard this line many times as a teenager and always for the purpose of at least getting to second and hopefully third base. Their hormones are speaking and not their true thoughts. At the moment, the desire is strong and the "I love you" comes out.
Just because they know they never will, they still don't give up. They just never give up trying.
That is the sad truth of it. There may be a chance that they really do love you, though, so you have to consider that as well.

My fiancé tells me he loves me A LOT. And not just to say it. He's ALWAYS backing it up. He tells me a thousand times in a day, and I don't ever have to question that, because we aren't sexually active (been together a year and a half), and his actions prove that's the way he feels.

Often guys feel pressured into this love word, also they use it to help prevent u from feeling "hurt" or "crushed". This makes no sense but it happens, on top of that guys may use the word to "get into ur pants" thinking that they are being romantic and u will fall for it.

Even if you say they never will, they don't believe you!

because you never know, the more they say i love you maybe they might get into someones pants. alot of guys will just say that for sex and then when it's over they fly the coop.

guys never rule out the oppertunity to get in their pants! if thats not the case and u know he dont want to, either he feels sorry for that person, or doesnt really know what loves is, and he is in lust, girls know that feeling more than guys.

I use 'I love you' if I think it will lead to sex. Then I usually stop calling a week or 2 later. Honest.
