Talk to other people about your feelings. If they aren't listening, see if there is a grief support group in your area to go to. They have adult and children's groups. They can really help. You find out how other people are taking care of themselves and you learn what is normal and not normal and things you can do to take care of yourself.

Cancer can be one of the saddest parts of life. Some people do not find out about their cancer until it has already reached the later stages. At this point there is not much that can be done. If people get the recommended screenings that are offered, they will increase their chances of catching their cancer at an earlier point when treatment can help a great deal.

I recently lost my step father to cancer, and the only way that I have found to cope with the whole thing is to know that he is not in pain any longer. He suffered in severe pain for months and I wouldn't want him to have suffered. So I know that he is not in pain anymore now, I miss him deeply and don't fully understand why this had to happen but you must find some comfort in the whole thing in order to move on and continue with your life.

Most people are touched by Cancer in their lifetime.
Most of us will have someone close who will die from this disease.
However, Cancer is treatable in many cases and many survive.
We all need to find our own way of dealing with any death, and your personal faith and beliefs will influence this.
If you find your grief is overwhealming, then see a councellor, who could be your spiritual advisor or a lay person, depending on who you are most comfortable dealing with.

Sweetheart, life is full of good and bad times but life goes on. Hold on to the good memories, don't place blame on drs or God just forgive, forget the bad and move on. There is more good and bad that will happen but the sun will rise in the sky tomorrow and there is always hope in a new day. Put your trust in God and let Him help you every day!

How do you cope with people who pass away from something other than cancer? I would think the same.
