what does it mean when a plant's leaf turns yellow? especially (but not limited to) around a brown spot?

what is the cause of this? and what can i do to help my poor plant!? *weep*

It needs adequate water, pot size, and light and maybe some plant food. Of course, it may have a disease. I have no experience in plant diseases but maybe you can web search for diseases that affect your type of plant, whatever it is.

That particular leaf is in the process of dying. Pluck it to avoid having it spread to other leaves.


I'll mourn the loss of the leaf with you...provided you're not planning on smoking it.
