I also had a preemie (many years ago). Their skin is super sensitive so you are wise to go back to pampers, which you know caused no problems. With these little ones, it usually isn't wise to switch products.

As for diaper rash, balmex was the diaper rash treatment of choice when my little guy was born. It is still considered the best diaper rash product on the market. You can buy it in any grocery store, discount store (target, walmart, kmart, etc)or drug store. I liked the cream more than the ointment.

Congrats on the birth of your babies!

Congratulations on your babies. 4 of my children were preemies as well. A diaper rash medicine with zinc oxide is a good choice. Also, unscented wipes. My grandson broke out in a rash every time we used scented wipes. The thick ones seemed to be less irritating as well. My babies also got some relief from the irritation at bath time. I put instant type oatmeal in a cloth and dabbed the liquid onto the little sore bottom. It's also great later if they ever get hives. Just a few "natural" type hints from a grandma.

Rosen's ointment. It is very expensive but a little dab will do you. There is also a great cream in the baby pak at Wal*Mart called Sudo-cream. That stuff works like a hot-damn! Your little one's skin is still quite tender so I would suggest you let them lie with nothing on their bottoms for a bit. They are probably not wiggling around so much, just put down a disposable change pad for accidents. The air getting to them will help immensely.

Penaten cream is awesome. Don't blame the diapers, it could be that you just can't leave them long in a peed diaper.
