can dermoscopy detect early melanoma?

Dermoscopy can help determine if a coloured lesion (mole etc) is a melanoma.

I don't know if you can detect one before this.

I have posted a link from a site I respect, many others seemed to be purely advertising, but this is one for a well respected public hospital.
