I have vertigo. It is similar to Menieres disease. I have been given medication to help with the symptoms. I take Serc 16mg twice a day and Stemitil 3 times a day to help with the dizzy spells. I also have to up my salt intake to keep my blood pressure from dropping too low. However, with this, I also have to drink plenty of water.
Hope this helps and have a great day/night!!!'K

spelled meniere's disease. Triad of vertigo, hearing loss and tinnitis (ringing in the ears) due to a pathology of fluid in the inner ear. Cause unknown. usually in females. Treatment used usually address the symptoms eg, salt restricted diet and diuretics to decrease inner ear fluid, anti-nausea and anti-vertigo meds. Definitive therapy in patients who do not respond to sympomatic therapy is eight nerve sectioning. I dont think the result of this is guaranteed either

I have Meniere's. Serc didn't work for me, but I'm ok because it just comes and goes at various times, and I'm not dealing with being out in the workforce because I'm a SAHM. Cut the salt and the caffeine.
I deal with the nausea by drinking real Ginger Ale and watching what I eat. Sleeping sometimes helps as well.

Everything is hereditary to some extent. without going into the details, everything that make up someone, and thus the quality of the different organs and their correct functionning is base on the DNA that person received from their parents. some disease have been proved to be very hereditary, but i think everything is hereditary to some extent. Take some, give some.
